You killed me. I died laughing, and then I died again because you did this to poor poor Hesse. Btw, read everything by Hesse, he's amazing.

Unfortunately, I haven't found an English translation of this quote yet. To translate it myself, very quickly, and doing Hesse no justice at all: "Let me tell you today how much I love you, how much you mean to me, how rich you have made my life. I haven't known much love in my life, the best thing was missing. If I know what love is, it is because of you. I was able to love you, you alone among all others. It is a well in a desert, a blossoming tree in the wilderness." And this is an ugly, thoughtless one-minute-translation, I need to find a better one. ;) Just to give you an idea.
