Hans Matheson picspam

Sherlock Holmes has given me a serious crush on Hans Matheson (and on Mark Strong, but let's not go there for the moment), aka Lord Coward, the cool guy with the silly name. ;) So I started hunting down movies he was in, and one of the movies I found is a TV-four-parter from 2005, called The Virgin Queen, about - surprise, surprise - Elizabeth I. I had hoped he would be in all four parts, but unfortunately he's only in part four (and in the last two minutes of part three). The movie wasn't all that exciting, but Hans was incredible as the Earl of Essex. He really is a great actor, extremely convincing as this manic-depressive, self-centred, charismatic, arrogant, charming noble brat. He described the role himself as "someone who slaps a guy in the face and then looks at him like, 'yeah, I slapped you in the face, but I'm the Earl of Essex, so what are you going to do about it?'". He actually does slap someone in the face, btw, it's not just metaphorical. Anyway, part four is definitely worth watching for his amazing performance; I honestly haven't watched the first three parts.

Long story short, Hans is also disturbingly beautiful, so I capped the hell out of this movie, and I thought I'd share. I hope it will inspire some people to write fic ... about Hans, about Coward, about any other character he's ever played, anything would make me happy. :D

I absolutely LOVE his eyes, and I'm usually not really into blue eyes.

Did I mention that his character has serious mother issues and a weird relationship with the Queen?

He does have quite a temper...

Boots. Hands. Boots AND hands. Guh.

Some comic relief to calm down again ... Because if you wear a funny collar, you have to make funny faces:

I love how he's making fun of everyone in this movie ... when he's not being paranoid and angry:

... or being an angsty mess:

Someone send a Blackwood or a Mark to hug him please?

Have some more angst ... making him cry is like kicking a puppy ...

Love his lips on this one.

I had to include one of the (many) pictures of him on horseback. I've read in an interview that Hans loves riding and that he was so happy he got to spend so much time with horses while doing this movie. Somehow I found that very sweet.

"Bitch please."

Gratuitous groin shot. *distracted*

I have no idea what he's doing there, but he looks very concentrated.

I kept the best things for the end ... First, bathtub scene: including feet that could give anyone a foot kink, general nudity, messy wet hair ...

(I'm working on a little Blackwood/Coward ficlet inspired by these pictures. :))

And it gets even better ...

... no comment needed ...

I had way too many caps to post, these are the best. I hope you enjoyed them. More Hans picspams might follow if I watch more movies and have the patience for caps. I might also do a picspam of Mark Strong because my inner slasher has decided that they belong together. ;) Until then, I'll try to get some Blackwood/Coward and/or Mark/Hans fic written. Comments are love. Squee with me. ;)

Right, and I almost forgot ... at some point in the movie he says to the Queen: "I see now, this is where I belong. I was a fool to stray so far from you." I can very well see Coward saying this to Blackwood as well ... but then again, I see that pairing everywhere. ;)

I love that clip! The actual scene from the movie is really good as well.

I've seen all but a couple of his movies/TV shows at this point. But the one I can't seem to get my hands on it also happens to be the one that has the full frontal shot. Frustrating!

.... skjflksdblk what? Full frontal shot? Where?

It's from "Comfortably Numb", the one where he plays a recovering addict going through rehab. Apparently there's a certain shower scene... but the best I've been able to come up with so far is this screenshot:

Never heard of it, I only know that he plays a drug-addict in Stella Does Tricks (which I haven't seen yet either).

Mhm, great, now I'll be busy looking for 'Comfortably Numb' too. ;) Need more than just that teasing screenshot. ;)

I've been able to find every single one of his movies online except that one. Pisses me off!

"Stella Does Tricks" was okay. Not one of my favorites, but he did a good job with his role as always.

Here's a few more from "Comfortably Numb":

Guuuuuuuuuuh. *drools* I need to see this! Hans makes me forget that I'm usually not into cute, pretty men ... but guh, he's so beautiful even I can't resist.

I don't know about downloads, but I've seen that 'Comfortably Numb' is at least available on DVD ... but only region 1, which is a bit of a problem for me. Damn it.

Really? I've only looked for downloads, didn't really bother with DVDs. But I am in region 1. Can you link me?

I might pick it up if it's not too expensive and if I do, there's no reason I couldn't rip and upload it. I do that with television shows for people all the time.

Here (http://www.amazon.com/Comfortably-Numb-Angela-Shelton/dp/B000V4QPZO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1272750210&sr=1-1) it is. It's not absurdly expensive either.

That would be awesome. :D

Yeah, it seems so, I've already heard that, but thank you nonetheless for the warning. :) Pity the movie is unavailable anywhere, and since I don't live in an English-speaking country I doubt that they'll ever show it on TV here.
Btw, your icon is gorgeous. What movie is that picture from?

Ah, I still haven't seen it, but it's definitely on my to-watch-list.
And the icon you're using now is very adorable too. ;)
