Hehe, I don't even remember gory details from stories my parents told me. I just remember that my father read all of Dumas' The Three Musketeers to me when I was a kid, but I don't think it was very gory. I don't even remember, so apparently that (and all the other books and stories) didn't leave horrible marks on my poor innocent soul.
I suppose it's debatable as to how I turned out in the end. ;-) Haha, that reminds me of what happens when I tell people that I started reading de Sade when I was 14 or so. They usually look at me and say, "duh, well look at what happened to yourself." ;)
