You should do that. Thinking of that, I need to see more movies with Christopher Lee slapping people around. People with beautiful hands just should do that. ;) Have a Dooku icon.
All I'm saying is: if somehow you manage to break Landa's character enough to insert him in a Mary Sue story, I don't see why you shouldn't do the same with Hellstrom. I am now trying to forget about this, all right? I'm so happy I'm not a teenager anymore - I spent years being ashamed of my age, at least I don't have to do that anymore. ;)
I haven't read your het fic, and you know that I won't. But I am of course aware of the fact that there are good het fics out there, well written, in character, and probably hot if you're into that kind of thing. There's good het like there is good slash, and bad het like there is bad slash. What I meant is rather the following: most (exclusive) het shippers always complain about how slash is OOC and only exists because insane slash fans want the two hot guys to have sex. In some cases that's of course true. But there are many slash ships out there (especially in my main fandoms) that are very IC, that make a lot of sense, that are really a great continuation of the characters' dynamics in canon (at least if you can admit the possibility of them being gay/bi). Many het ships, however, even in canon, seem to be based on nothing but "we have a hot woman, we have a hot man, we need a romantic relationship in this, let's put them together" or "our main character needs a love interest, let's have him fall in love with the first random hot woman around, even if she's a boring twat" - even if there's really no reason why these two should be interested in each other (at least interested in more than just a quick fuck because the other one is hot). My point being: most het ships are way more out of character than slash ships. Good slash fics usually try to explain why these two men are attracted to each other, because they always feel the need to justify themselves. Many het shippers, from what I've seen in the few fics I've read and mainly in the many meta discussions, don't do that. Their ship just IS, no matter how OOC it would be for one or both characters. Most het pairings (both canon and fanon) have strictly no chemistry. If they have, I'm the first one to admit it, even if I don't personally like the ship. I think Firefly's Mal/Inara is one of the most interesting pairings out there, because they really HAVE chemistry. Every scene of them is full of eye sex, of suppressed longing; it's a relationship between two equals who know that they'd totally fuck up if they ever got together. I wouldn't want to read porn about them, but it's a ship that even fascinates me. Most het pairings are based on nothing but the remote possibility that every heterosexual man on the show could get together with every heterosexual woman on the show. Again, many slash ships do the same, but I feel that there are just more slash ships that make sense, character-wise, than het ships.
