Thank you kindly for the Dooku icon. If we were to round up all the actors with nice hands who should slap people around, we'd have a veritable SlapFest. Just think of it: Christopher Lee, Liam Neeson, Mark Strong, Michael Fassbender, August Diehl...oh, and let's throw in Heydrich for good measure, since no one else in all history has ever had more perfect hands for this purpose. This would make a nice follow-up to our little fantasty of joining Schellchen in the long line of people outside Heydrich's office door just waiting to be slapped around.

And the one where a 30-year-old Captain Landa picks up a 16-year-old Dieterchen for sex in a dark alley is so wildly popular, although I'm also quite fond of the one where Dieterchen fucks Archie in the back room of La Lousianne. Dieterchen is just so delightfully nasty in that one, spanking Archie and calling him a limey slut, etc.
That said, I couldn't agree with you more that there are tons of slash pairings out there which seem somehow made in heaven (or just our fevered little brains). There's no question, for example, that Landa & Dieterchen belong together, even though the two of them never interact with each other in the film and don't even really appear onscreen at the same time, except from a distance when Goebbels and the lot are leaving the cinema after their preview viewing). Anyone who thinks slash is OOC is nuts. There are centuries of literature celebrating male bonding--it's a literary tradition, for goodness' sake. Not to mention the fact that male bonding in Greek history was quite authentically slashy. I'm surprised that people would ever consider slash OOC. Nothing could be further from the truth.
I don't like most OFCs in hetfics because too often they are very young, twattty girls who somehow sweep the characters off their feet. I don't mind some of the IB hetfics which feature Shoshanna/Hellstrom or Shoshanna/Landa, because these are always in character and always twisted and fucked up. And the Bridget/Landa and Bridget/Archie hetfics are usually quite witty as well as in character. But overall, I agree--there are far more slash pairings that make sense than het pairings, and they're all part of the romanticization of the male bonding experience.
