Liam, I don't think so. Mark ... yes, we have seen Mark in SS uniform. I think it was one of his very first movies, he's only in it for three minutes or so (which I haven't seen), he's all young (30-ish), and unfortunately we don't get a good/any look at his boots. I don't really remember much about the fic, tbh. I just remember that I somehow didn't like the dynamics between Landa and Hellstrom in that fic, even back when I first read it and wasn't so much against my own La musica!Dieterchen. Also, I remember, more clearly than I remember my objections about the characterisation, that your style in that fic was a bit too florid for my taste. Not florid as in bad, but florid as in not my cup of tea. And I'm apparently one of the few people in fandom who actually took the whole "don't like, don't read"-thing to heart, so if I know that someone writes stuff that's not my thing, I don't read it instead of whining about it. ;D Anyway, I can't really give you any intelligent comment on Stille Nacht, because I barely remember details. As for the young!Dieterchen-fic, I read it yesterday and will leave a comment in a few. I can say already that cynical Dieterchen was what I liked best about that fic.
Well, the porn ... I don't know. Sure, the porn is fun, it's hot, but generally the porn I imagine myself when seeing a hot slash pairing is a lot better than 90% of all written porn. I can't say I read fanfic for porn, except when it's exceptionally well written, or when there's some unusual kink (like my asphyxiation fic, or that amazing fisting fic I linked you to recently). Tbh, I skip porn half the time when I read fanfic. Most porn is, at best, boring, at worst, unsexy because of a bad choice of vocabulary, or general "put A into B"-descriptions. I want angst, and I want introspection, and I want characterisation, and of course I want them to have sex at some point - but unless the sex is amazingly well written, I'll just skim through it. I'm a lot more interested in how two characters get together, why they're attracted to each other, why they decide to sleep with each other even if they shouldn't for whatever reasons ... What I find a lot hotter than straightforward porn is stuff like innuendos, flirting, hints, descriptions of details like smell (I'm using that example because a friend of mine wrote a rather hot ficlet just about Hani's (Body of Lies) smell) ... And angst. And characterisation. Fic without characterisation is just sad. ;)
Erm, no, never heard of Mark Simpson. But you know I rarely venture outside fandom in these matters. ;) But, of course, I'd LOVE to know if there was an original mirror scene in the BBC adaptation.
