I didn't even think of what would happen later, I mostly wanted to torture Stannis even more by making him see something sweet and loving rather than just Renly banging someone for fun. One day I will write a happy fic about Stannis. I really owe it to him after so much "ooooh, let's show Stannis all the things he will never have while his brothers prance around and make fun of him."
