Dear writer!

Thank you for writing for me and having a look at my letter. I've got some general likes and dislikes listed, as well a list of kinks should you feel inclined to write porn. For every request I've listed ships and characters I like and ones I'd rather not see, and then a bunch of prompts. If none of those prompts work for you, that's fine - as long as you include some of my likes and none of my DNWs, I'll just be happy to read about my faves from different canons interacting in some way or other.

And, er, I am aware that almost all my requests are Rivers of London crossovers, but it's not my fault that fandom is made for crossovers. ;)

I have only requested fic for all my fandoms because I'm not very good at coming up with art prompts and I'd feel bad for any artist who got matched to me and then had nothing to go on. But if any of my requests give you an idea for art, I would absolutely love to see that, too! :)

Things I like to read about:

first meetings, first impressions
first time/getting together: slow burn, pining, UST finally getting resolved, but also antagonistic hate sex or casual hookups that are only later followed by feelings
developing relationships: relationship conflicts after the characters got together, trying to figure out how to make things work, some things maybe not working at first, temporary breakups, basically anything that doesn't assume that first time sex -> perfect relationship
porn, especially porn with feelings/porn that says something about their relationship (see list below for kinks I like)
enemies to lovers, partners to lovers
reluctant allies grudgingly starting to like each other
non-verbal expressions of affection
familiarity, intimacy, characters getting to know each other better (their habits, their hangups etc.)
pre-canon/background stories
post-canon fic
canon divergence
casefic
moral dilemmas, characters having to question/go against their principles
loyalty, devotion, trust, but also trust/commitment issues
obsessive, codependent, complicated relationships
unhealthy/unusual relationships that should be a trainwreck, but work for the characters involved

villains/sociopaths in love, bad guys who would literally burn down the rest of the world for each other

I like darker elements (violence, murder, noncon/dubcon, manipulation, depression, whatever fits your plot and isn't on my DNW list), but I'd prefer a happy or semi-happy ending. Feel free to make me bawl my eyes out, but please cheer me up again afterwards.

Do Not Wants:

character death of characters I like (random side characters or antagonists dying is fine)
serious illnesses, permanent injuries (blood and wounds that will heal again are fine)
completely tragic/bleak endings
animal death/cruelty
genderbend of any kind, mpreg, A/B/O, characters being werewolves/vampires/anything than what they are in canon
unrequested ships (including canon ships)
AUs that completely change the setting or the characters' occupations (so no high school AUs, in space AUs, coffeeshop AUs ...)
permanently unrequited love or permanent breakups for my ships - I'd rather just read gen if you don't want to write my ships than have one half of my ship pining for the other
unnecessary epithets, please use characters' names/pronouns unless their name isn't known to the POV character
1st and 2nd person fic (unless the canon itself is in 1st person, then it's fine)
for porn: detailed kink negotiation, safewords for scenes that don't involve consent play; scat, watersports, coming in pants, crossdressing, feminisation, body modification, ageplay/infantilisation

Crossover or Fusion

Ships and characters I like: Nightingale/Peter, Nightingale and Peter on their own, Walid, Seawoll; mostly Flint/Hamilton, but I also like Teach/Vane, Jack/Anne, Eleanor

Ships and characters I'd rather not read about: Peter/Beverley, the Rivers, although brief appearances by Tyburn, Mama Thames, Father Thames or Oxley are fine; Silver, Max, Flint/Silver, Max/Anne

Prompts:

I am mostly really, really into Flint becoming the genius loci of the Atlantic Ocean before/after/while dying, and Thomas becoming immortal as his significant other (kinda like Oxley and Isis in canon): Ocean God Flint who smells of the sea and whose vestigia is storms and thunder and cannon fire and whose glamour makes people want to just reach out and take what they're owed, and the only person who can calm his rage is Thomas. I love this for the badassery, but also for the inherent tragedy of Flint never, ever being able to walk away from the sea.
do with this as you please: a fusion with no direct RoL connection - Ocean God Flint and Thomas interacting with any of the other Black Sails characters, or what they're up to over the following centuries, or Flint scaring the shit out of sailors, or Flint recovering bling from sunk ships to drape Thomas in riches, Flint and Thomas interacting with any earlier members of the Folly ... - but I'd also love a crossover in which they meet Nightingale and/or Peter
could be in the 1920s in London with young Nightingale meeting this brilliant, good-looking blond fae who doesn't seem all that dangerous until you meet his pirate Ocean God husband, or in the 1930s while Nightingale was travelling the world being some kind of mix between Indiana Jones and James Bond (maybe he almost drowned and Hamilton made Flint save him), or present-day when Nightingale needs to ask Flint something case-related and Peter is wondering why Nightingale seems THAT irritated about having to meet up with a contact (I think Hamilton and Nightingale would get along smashingly, Flint and Nightingale not so much)
for that matter: any combination of Flint/Hamilton/Nightingale/Peter would be hot as hell
if Ocean God James doesn't do it for you, you wouldn't even have to fudge the timelines much to have Lord Hamilton and Lieutenant McGraw interact with Isaac Newton, have them discuss magic, witness the creation of the Folly ... And what if Thomas actually knew some magic? How would that have changed the canon events?

Rivers of London/Whitechapel
Crossover

Ships and characters I like: Nightingale/Peter, Nightingale and Peter on their own, Walid, Seawoll; Chandler, Kent, Miles, Chandler/Kent

Ships and characters I'd rather not read about: any of the Rivers, Peter/Beverley; anyone from Whitechapel is fine

Prompts:

what with all the wild supernatural stuff going on in the last season of Whitechapel, I feel like this crossover writes itself: maybe the Folly shows up to help out, maybe someone tells Chandler & co about this specialist team they should talk to (and they're all sceptical still because supernatural weirdness is one thing, but Met-sanctioned WIZARDS?? please) - so if you want to write plotty supernatural casefic about Nightingale & Peter and Chandler & co working together, I'd love that
Chandler being a posh boy whose father at least was already police ... maybe some of his ancestors were actually in the Folly? He clearly doesn't know about it, but maybe Nightingale knew his grandfather or great-grandfather? I'm always here for Nightingale-related sadness about everyone he knew being dead.
I ship both Nightingale/Peter and Chandler/Kent, so if you want to have Peter and Kent commiserate over crushing on their posh, hot, possibly oblivious superiors, I'm here for that.
I love Miles and his grumpiness and snark, so Miles commenting on this whole magic business would be great; I could also see Seawoll and Miles knowing each other from some earlier assignment.

Rivers of London/Blitz
Crossover

Ships and characters I like: Nightingale/Peter, Nightingale and Peter on their own, Walid, Seawoll; Brant/Nash

Ships and characters I'd rather not read about: any of the Rivers, Peter/Beverley; anyone from Blitz is fine

Prompts:

casefic with magic shenanigans! Brant and Nash stumble into some magic-related case and need the Folly's help (whether they end up calling them or Nightingale and Peter just show up some day): Brant is Not Happy, Nash is confused but at least polite and also trying really hard to get Brant to behave around the gentlemen who can do magic
Brant and Peter especially have some very different attitudes towards policing, so any kind of conflict arising from that could be interesting
if you want to write antagonistic Nightingale/Brant hookups, I would not say no to that (especially if they happened in the past and just make things awkward now that they have to work together)

Rivers of London/Kingsman
Crossover or Fusion

Ships and characters I like: Nightingale/Peter, Nightingale and Peter on their own, Walid, Seawoll; Harry/Eggsy/Merlin, any of them on their own

Ships and characters I'd rather not read about: any of the Rivers, Peter/Beverley; anyone from Kingsman is fine, but please no unrequested ships

Prompts:

maybe the Kingsmen need the Folly's help to foil some international magic-related plan? Spy and magic shenanigans? Peter would love those gadgets. Eggsy would find magic exciting as fuck. Harry and Nightingale would get along like a house on fire - posh badasses who are a lot less proper and boring than they appear at first sight and really LOVE kicking ass dramatically? Merlin and Walid could nerd off together.
I bet Kingsman and the Folly have a long history, so if you'd rather write something more fusion-like than a straight-up crossover, that'd be interesting, too: did they usually work together? Was there some kind of rivalry for whatever reasons? Wanna write about Nightingale in the 20s and 30s working with the Kingsmen on one of his international spy adventures? Do Harry and Nightingale know each other from some mission they worked together when Harry was a young man and Nightingale still looked old?
if plotty is not your thing, some kind of meet-cute could also be a lot of fun. Maybe Nightingale takes Peter to get a proper suit tailored at Kingsman Tailors and Peter can't shake this feeling that there's something odd about this place ... Maybe Eggsy and Peter run into each other while walking their yappy little dogs and both judge each other for looking like their posh older boyfriend's bit of rough. Or maybe they befriend each other and are very surprised to find out that they both have a posh older boyfriend - who know each other? Or basically any kind of scenario in which you have Peter find out about the Kingsmen and/or Eggsy find out about magic could be cool.

Fast and the Furious/The Expendables
Crossover

Ships and characters I like: Deckard/Owen; Barney/Lee, really all the Expendables are awesome, including the kids from the third movie; Stonebanks and Cypher both make for great villains if you need an antagonist

Ships and characters I'd rather not read about: I don't care a massive amount about the protagonists of the F&F series - I'm fine with them appearing (I do like Ramsey a lot), but I'd rather not get a fic that focuses mostly on them

Prompts:

the Shaws and the Expendables working together, whether it's just some random mission or Owen hiring the Expendables to break Deckard out of jail or the Shaws need some back-up against Cypher or Stonebanks survived and Barney calls in a favour from Deckard or Owen to go after him ...
I'd also read the Shaws and the Expendables working against each other, for whatever reason, but I'd really rather they found a peaceful solution in the end because I love them all and don't want to see any of them die
I'm all for Lee and one or both of the Shaws knowing each other from their SAS times - whether they got along all right or hate each other (because the Shaws are two sociopathic manipulative assholes and you really can't blame anyone for hating them); if you wanna combine this with identity shenanigans like Owen banging Lee because he really wants Deckard or the like, go for it.
I love the reputation the Shaws have in-universe, so I'd also love to read something more or less cracky about the younger Expendables members being really fucking impressed that Barney can call in favours from Owen and Deckard Shaw (and Barney being all nonchalant and cool about it while secretly feeling flattered, while Lee just rolls his eyes at him because Barney is being ridiculous)

TLDR: except for my few fusion prompts, I'll admit that I'm mostly in this exchange to see a bunch of characters I love from different canons interact with each other, so if you write me that, I will be happy. I also love worldbuilding and people reacting to finding out new things about the world they live in (especially for my RoL crossovers).

Anyway, thanks for writing for me, dear author - I hope that you can find something in this letter that you'll enjoy writing and I'm very much looking forward to what you'll come up with!
