He's the main character of 17 Moments of Spring, a Russian TV movie in twelve parts from the 1970s. Max Otto von Stierlitz is actually a Russian spy, but he has been in Germany since the 1920s, and has been in the SS pretty much since the beginning. He's this really stoic, calm guy, intelligent, always in control, and very tragic (I mean, the poor guy was married to a Russian woman before he went to Germany, so his life sucks a bit ;)). The irony of the thing? He's in the SD Ausland, counter-intelligence and everything. ;) And Schellenberg has a crush on him, the way he behaves. Slashiness of doom. If you're interested, a friend of mine posted download-links: http://assassin-nariel.livejournal.com/18131.html (Also, Stierlitz is hot. *nodnod*)
