Moskaaaaaaaaaaau!!!

I need to share my excitement with the world! I'm going to Moscow for four weeks in March! I'll have several hours of Russian classes four days a week, and I get to hop around in Moscow for the rest of the time. I'm sure it's going to be quite adventurous, and exciting, and interesting, and plainly awesome! Squee! God, I love Russian so much, and I really hope that my Russian will get beyond its basic crappiness after four weeks of more intense classes. I'll have classes in the Pushkin institute in Moscow from March 1st to 26th, and then I'm going to spend a few days in Petersburg. Back home to Berlin on the 31rd. May I squee again? SQUEE!!!
I already talked to one of you, but if there are any other Russians hiding on my f-list who will be in Moscow or Petersburg at that time and would feel like meeting silly me irl, I'd love to meet you guys. I promise I'm not an evil rapist. The only thing that will rape you is my constant fangirling (and my crappy Russian, if you refuse to speak English with me ;)).
Ah, and of course I'd love to send everyone postcards, if you want some. ^^ I'll make another post asking for your addresses a week or so before I leave, because if I do that now I'll forget about again it until March. Just wanted to tell you. I love sending postcards.

Also, I decided to be a good girl and not a lazy bitch and write all my exams before I leave for Russia, instead of pushing them off until April. The first three weeks of February are going to be quite stressful, then I'll have one calm week to relax and prepare for the journey. Knowing me, I'll probably be attacked by raging plot bunnies in February, demanding that I write fic instead of preparing for my exams. ;)

Okay, no more babbling, I've got real life stuff to do. (I just wrote "bubbling" instead of "babbling" ... I suppose I am bubbling with excitement. ;))

Why the icon? Because Dieterchen approves of going to Moscow! (For some reason, in my personal fanon, Dieter learnt Russian while he was in university because he was bored. Yeah, it's shameless self-insert to motivate myself. ;)) LOL, that reminds me of that silly joke ... Why can't a German sleep calmly in Moscow? Because whenever he wakes up he thinks, "oh fuck, the Russians are here!" :)

One month without reading any story from you? I can't possibly survive this.
Nah, just kidding, it sounds quite exciting and I'm very happy for you.

Who says I'm not going to write anything? Maybe Moscow proves to be very inspiring ... But yeah, you're right, I probably won't write too much. ;)
Thanks. ^^

I am soooo jealous, but I still hope you have a wonderful time. :-)

[identity profile] linndechir.livejournal.com 2010-01-19 07:27 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks. ^^ I know it's mean to make people jealous like that, but I needed to squee a little. :)

Oh to be young again...and to have my whole life ahead of me, with nothing but things to look forward to...

Dude, that is so awesome. I hope you have a brilliant time, even though I am slightly jealous. *has a major thing for Communist history, would therefore love to go to Russia*

[identity profile] linndechir.livejournal.com 2010-01-19 06:57 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you! :D I have a major thing for Russia. But also for Communist history. So much fun in one city, yay. ;) I'll send postcards. :)

Hey, let me know when you're going to visit us. I think both me and mezzafreda will gladly show you around:)

[identity profile] linndechir.livejournal.com 2010-01-19 08:09 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, that would be awesome! :D Do you and mezzafredda know each other irl?
I'll be in Moscow for four weeks, so I'm sure we'll find some time to meet. :) That's really wonderful, I love meeting online friends in person. :)

You lucky bitch! That sounds amazing, especially all the free time you have to fangirl over Russia. (And hey, who wouldn't? Even Goebbels had a thing for Russian authors.) Your Russian is certain to improve just by the immersion, so you will exponentially increase in skill with the language classes. The problem I have is always keeping up that level when I return home. I hope you don't get too many German-in-Russia jokes (although if any are as cringe-inducing as yours, please forward them).

[identity profile] linndechir.livejournal.com 2010-01-19 09:51 am (UTC)(link)
The problem is just that I'm going there with other people from my university, so we'll probably end up speaking German when we're not in class. I mean, sure, everyone is always determined to speak Russian all the time, but when you have to share a room with someone and you're both too tired to bother with Russian grammar, you switch to your native language sooner or later. I'll just have to try to find handsome Russians to flirt with in my free time. ;D
Actually, I'm quite curious about German-in-Russia jokes. It was a pity I got so few jokes about Germans when I was in France (I made up for it by making jokes about the French, but still). I simply love silly jokes like the one I posted in my entry. They may be absolutely stupid, but they still make me laugh.

Wow, a whole 4 weeks in Moscow- I'm not surprised you're squeeing about it!^^
If you don't find the time to post anything during this time, then I will certainly miss it!
Hope you have a great time :D

[identity profile] linndechir.livejournal.com 2010-01-19 05:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you! :D I really have no idea if I will find the time to write - maybe a quick one-shot when a rabid Russian plot bunny bites me. Then again, sometimes I don't post new fics for four weeks even when I'm at home, so it's not like much will change. ;)

Wow, Moscou.

Damned.

[identity profile] linndechir.livejournal.com 2010-01-19 05:35 pm (UTC)(link)

D'ailleurs, tu deviens quoi, toi ? :)

[identity profile] nuitari-aquariu.livejournal.com 2010-01-19 05:44 pm (UTC)(link)

[identity profile] linndechir.livejournal.com 2010-01-19 05:51 pm (UTC)(link)

A postcard from Russia would be friggin sweet!

[identity profile] linndechir.livejournal.com 2010-01-20 10:52 am (UTC)(link)
Sure. :) As I said, I'll post another entry shortly before I leave to ask people to send me their addresses, if they want postcards. I just don't want to collect them now, I might end up forgetting someone. ;)

[identity profile] simorg-13.livejournal.com 2010-03-13 10:12 pm (UTC)(link)
I hope you'll like this country and see Russia as it is, void of stereotypes=) Next time go to St. Petersburg, though. It's more beautiful, friendlier and mysterious.

[identity profile] linndechir.livejournal.com 2010-03-14 07:17 pm (UTC)(link)
I didn't really have any choice - my university organised the language class, and they organised it in Moscow. ;) I'm going to St. Petersburg for a few days at the end of March, and I'm already sure I'll like it better than Moscow. Still, I find Moscow incredibly fascinating, even if very exhausting.
