Yes, I hated Robin Hood, but didn't hate Mark, of course. I think that most everything Ridley did in this movie he had already done better in Gladiator. And I loved Gladiator.
I did not care for the new twist on the story, nor the chemistry between Crowe and Cate Blanchett, nor for the overall filthiness of the film. Grossed me out.
There was nothing gross or filthy about Godfrey, though. There is never anything gross about any character Mark plays. He has an innate elegance and grace.
