Picspam: Mark Strong in RocknRolla

I've been promising to do this for ages, but I just didn't get around to doing it any earlier. Here's another epic-sized Mark picspam, with screencaps from RocknRolla. The movie is awesome and definitely worth watching, not just for Mark. Although Mark is definitely the best thing about the movie, as in probably every movie he is in. ;) I especially loved his voice. I mean, I always love his voice, but RocknRolla has the added advantage of Mark's character being the narrator ... :D


Mark as Archy, the biggest BAMF in a movie full of BAMFs. ;)

I think I'm going to be disappointed if I ever see a movie in which Mark does not slap people around. ;) This movie is special, though, because of the famous Archy slap. No explanation possible, you'll have to see it. It works not only on little boys, but also on grown-up men:

I wanted to picspam Body of Lies as well, but I have a really slow internet connection at the moment, and I don't have the patience right now to spend more time staring at my screen and waiting for the pictures to upload. But expect a Body of Lies picspam soon. Here's a little teaser:

This is awesome! Archy is the by far coolest and most sensible character in RocknRolla and definitely not someone you want to cross.

Archy is wonderful, I love his character so much. Then again, I have a soft spot for characters who are incredibly loyal and then get disappointed ... one of the reasons I love the man on your icon, btw. ;)

YESSS definitely have been waiting for this! i love it i love it<3 i need to rewatch this movie. so hot and hilarious.. i love when he hums into the mic "you'll never sing the same if your teeth aint your own" lol and the famous archie slap, awesome. this was great, thanks :D

Oh THAT's what he hums! OHMYGOD that's just awesome! I didn't quite get it when I watched the movie, but now that you say it, of course! That makes the scene even more awesome than I thought it was. I will squee about this for an hour now, I think.

I watched "The Young Victoria" today, totally unsuspecting and I was suddenly all "I KNOW THAT VILLAINY VILLAIN."

You definitely have to see it, it's one of my favourite movies with Mark. He's just so awesome, and for once he's not just playing a tiny little part, but he's actually important. :D

Haha, true. But his haircut is better than Blackwood's. And ooooh, Blackwood would love phones. He could have dirty talk on the phone with his pet Coward. ;)

AWADVDAYUKATYTDASJ! Sorry, but... gahhh! The hotness!
I have just recently realized what a brilliant actor Mark is. I first saw him in Stardust (he totally stole the movie btw) but then I kind of forgot him *hits herself*. BUT then I went to see Kick-Ass and was once again totally sold by his performance. I was really just cheering for his character through the whole movie. It made me remember him and seek out more information of him. Then I saw Robin Hood and that's when I finally realized: "Hey, I have developed a major crush for this man!" :D
After this realization I immediatelly borrowed my friend's Sherlock Holmes DVD and bought RocknRolla (a Guy Ritchie movie + Mark Strong, you can't go wrong with that so I didn't even hesitate and I LOVED it).
Sorry for all the blabbing but I'm so glad to see there's such active fans posting sexy AND hilarious picspams XD. I lolled at many of your captions. Hmm, I actually just re-watched RocknRolla and now I want to watch it again.

Never apologise for rambling about Mark! :D I'm happy he has gained another fan! He's a great actor and hopelessly underrated; I really hope that we will keep seeing him in more movies now that he's starting to get famous. :) He was epic in RocknRolla. And in Kick-Ass. All right, and in everything else. ;)
I've posted a few more Mark picspams on my journal, you might want to have a look. I'm glad you liked my comments. ^^ If you like Mark, you should DEFINITELY watch Body of Lies (I've made a picspam of that movie too) and The Long Firm (no picspam yet, but it's probably Mark's greatest role EVER - he gets to play the lead, for once, not just a side character).

How I Found Mark...

I have just recently discovered how great he is as well. Here's my story:

I went to see Robin Hood, and hated it...just HATED it. But...when Godfrey came on screen he looked very familiar to me, and when he said that he speaks Fench "when it suits me" there was something in the way he said it —or perhaps it was his lovely and unique voice that did it— I really felt that I knew him from way back somewhere.

By the end of the movie, I recalled a picture of Sean Bean pushing him down a well and remembered that he had been in a Sharpe episode. So apparently, he had made an impression years ago on me.

Then the night after I saw Robin Hood, I was channel surfing and came upon a scene between some very attractive, dark, well-dressed Arab gentleman and Leo Di Caprio. I stopped and recognized Mark's eyes and nose. I called my sister, with whom I had just seen Robin Hood, and told her to turn on the same channel. "Isn't that the bad guy from Robin Hood??" I asked her." It looks like him," she said.

The next night I watched all of " Body of Lies" and a full-blown crush was born. Sigh.

Now I have seen quite a few of his films and he has not been bad in one of them, and steals the show in MOST of them. He has such a long, lean, graceful carriage, and has such a magnificent screen presence. They say a movie star is all in the eyes. And Mark's are so deep and penetrating. Plus his very deep and masculine voice is attractive all on its own.

As Archie, he is simply to-die-for attractive. Plus, he's the only one with any maturity in the movie. He amazes me when one instant he is so calm and even tempered...then WHAMMO! He turns on the anger and it is so convincing and (I am embarrassed to admit) so SEXY.

But I love his softer side, and his Mr. Knightly is just as thrilling to me.

Haha, I'm always happy when someone likes my comments. I think they're stupid most of the time, but I'd feel even more stupid posting the caps without any comments at all.

Yeah, I know, he isn't mentioned on the DVD cover either (at least not on the DVD that was released here in Germany). Just because more people know Crowe, even if his part in the movie is a lot less important. *grumble*
