Picspam: Mark Strong in RocknRolla

I've been promising to do this for ages, but I just didn't get around to doing it any earlier. Here's another epic-sized Mark picspam, with screencaps from RocknRolla. The movie is awesome and definitely worth watching, not just for Mark. Although Mark is definitely the best thing about the movie, as in probably every movie he is in. ;) I especially loved his voice. I mean, I always love his voice, but RocknRolla has the added advantage of Mark's character being the narrator ... :D


Mark as Archy, the biggest BAMF in a movie full of BAMFs. ;)

I think I'm going to be disappointed if I ever see a movie in which Mark does not slap people around. ;) This movie is special, though, because of the famous Archy slap. No explanation possible, you'll have to see it. It works not only on little boys, but also on grown-up men:

I wanted to picspam Body of Lies as well, but I have a really slow internet connection at the moment, and I don't have the patience right now to spend more time staring at my screen and waiting for the pictures to upload. But expect a Body of Lies picspam soon. Here's a little teaser:

No, I'm not amazed, just teasing you. ;-) OMIGOD, Stierlitz & Aue? What a great combination!!

Someone posted a drawing of Aue and I was so excited to go see it, and then it turned out to be another one of these stupid anime drawings, where they made him look like something out of DragonBall Z, all skinny and girlish and with that long, dark, Japanese hair. WTF? Doesn't anybody out there know how to draw anything other than anime???

Yeah, Max and Mäxchen, love the pairing. They're snuggly and sweet. Although not as snuggly and sweet as Stierlitz and bb!Dieterchen.

Mhm, if we're talking about the same drawing, I thought it was okay - it was anime-style, yes, but he still looked like a person at least. But the hair was horrible. Same with most Himmler/Heydrich-art, much of it is anime-style (and shamelessly, horribly, OOF-fluffy), it annoys me so much. I wish I could draw. :(

You and me both. Some of the Heydrich drawings I've seen haven't been too bad, at least they don't give him Dragonball-Z hair, and he looks fairly butch. I just hate this girly-girl image of Aue, though. This is supposed to be an SS officer? Ecchh! I just see Max as so much more butch even though so much of his sexuality is wrapped around identifying with his sister. I'm finding the book absolutely fascinating, BTW. Oh, and here's how the English translation appears of that infamous line, let me know what you think:

"And that is how, my ass still full of sperm, I resolved to enter the Sicherheitsdienst."

I agree. Max is a little slut, but he's still a man, there's nothing really female about him. Stupid people.

Heh, love that line in every langauge. ;) But the problem with translations is that they will always sound less good when you're used to the original. Also, the American "ass" bothers me A LOT with a European character and setting. But we've already talked about that. ;)
Btw, tell me when you get to the part where Eichmann fanboys Heydrich. ;)

I understand about the ass/arse part. I didn't understand where arse came from until I learned German swear words like "arschloch" LOL (Pistolemen sent me a great list of German dirty talk). I used "arse" in my Hicox/Hellstrom fic for just the reasons you stated, but it still made me wince every time. It's just...so...feminine-sounding, somehow. I think of it is as prissy and British.

But nothing beats "pleine de sperme." I just love the way that sounds. Even better would be "grosse pleine de sperme." Forgive me if my grammar is all fucked up. ;-)

I don't know, European characters speaking/writing American English is about as absurd as if they spoke Canadian French in the French version, or something. Whatever, I think we already noticed earlier that we disagree on this.

It's "plein de sperme". erm, but why "grosse", what do you mean?

Eh, my bad. I told you to forgive my terrible grammar. I can't find my French/English dictionary, I think I stupidly said the equivalent of "fat full of sperm." Hey, I'm not a linguist, okay? :-)
