I think I said it before, but when I watched IB for the first time I was in the cinema with two French friends of mine, who were very impressed. Obviously Waltz does have an accent, he doesn't sound like a native speaker, but he's pretty good.
One of the reasons I rarely watch European movies. Mediocre films can be fun to watch, but mediocre films that pretend to be intelligent and amazing and OMFG ART! are just unbearable. At least American movies admit that they're crap.
Dieterchen in hetfic is in itself so OOC, it breaks my brain. But we've talked about that before, no reason to repeat that. I'm still reassured that so far nobody had him fall in love with a Jewish girl who just happened to be so gorgeous and SPESHUL that Dieter gave up all his beliefs to save her (and while he was at it, he also joined the Basterds and helped kill Hitler and generally redeemed himself because his SPESHUL girlfriend made him realise how evil the Nazis were). Just typing this hurts. ;)
