I'm always torn between not being impressed by people who speak French well (because I learnt it very fast) and being impressed by them because they learnt it without living there. ;) Anyway, you're right, nothing beats Christopher Lee's gorgeous French. I was so disappointed that his German doesn't sound all that great. :( (If it reassures you - I have no desire whatsoever to call Christopher Lee "Tophy". More a desire to call him "sir" and feel that it's still not respectful enough. ;))
Well, I thought the same about Landa, but apparently there ARE crappy Mary Sue stories in which Landa falls in love with a girl and turns into a good guy. There's nothing I put past het shippers. :P (Tbh, there's also nothing I put past slash shippers, before you hit me. But I am always under the impression that at least in most of my fandoms (I know it's the other way around in other fandoms), the het shippers are usually even more delusional idiots than the slashers. Present company excluded. ;) But really? "omfg Eric and Sookie have such chemistry!" "omfg House and Cuddy belong together!" I always wonder if they watch different shows/movies.)
