Your discussion of languages is definitely right on. Kind of reminds me of all the discussions we have in my French translation classes. Oh language, you are so expressive and so inadequate and all we have.
Stannis/Davos is so bizarrely healthy for a relationship which involves a massive power imbalance and the removal of finger joints. Only those two could make that work.
