Or not. There's this tumblr with ASOIAF "confessions", pretty much like fandom secrets, mostly rather silly, uninteresting stuff. But I was kind of bored and had a look at it, and one of the first things I saw was this. Probably someone else just had the same idea as me, but since I have never seen anyone else even mention this ship, I can't help but wonder if my constant spamming of Stannis/Sansa as endgame OTP is not showing results and I actually converted someone. If I did, it would really crack me up. If not, I'm apparently not alone in thinking they'd be great together. Either way, it's pretty awesome. Call me self-centred and megalomaniac, but I love it when I manage to convert other people to my crazy rare pairings.

I also just saw an epic movie at the Fantasy Film Festival here in Berlin, called Super. The theme is a bit similar to Kick-Ass - a rather normal, not very smart or strong or rich guy decides to put on a costume and become a superhero. It's more brutal than Kick-Ass, but absolutely hilarious. Ellen Page as batshit crazy side-kick was amazing, and Nathan Fillion had a small role as Holy Avenger, a character on some crazy Jesus TV show. Seriously, this movie is all kinds of awesome. The director was there, and he did a cute little speech before the movie. "This is not a movie for everyone. It's a movie for the oddball, the outcast ... the geek. People like you!" Anyway, watch Super. It's great, if you like that kind of thing.

Ah, right, I remember reading that. Although, tbh, it's nothing that wasn't implied yet at the end of ADWD. I was fairly sure that Dorne would try to meet up with Aegon, and I was also fairly sure that Aegon&Griff&buddies would manage to take Storm's End. They seem to have had a plan, nobody important is currently at Storm's End to warrant a serious battle, and I'd be surprised if Aegon's conquest was over so early. ;)

I don't know what to think. I've been sure for a long time that Stannis won't win the Iron Throne in the end because that's apparently not what GRRM has planned for him. *sigh* But it will be interesting to see how this plays out. Oh God, you know what would be totally awesome? If Daenerys does come to Westeros (I still hope she won't), except that she and Aegon end up fighting each other because she does not recognise his claim as better than hers. Gods, that would be epic. And then Stannis could be the big winner of that situation, just like the Lannisters were the ones who profited most from Stannis and Renly fighting each other.

... I can dream, right?

It's quite very interesting to see that the more we advance in the story, and no matter what we all had in mind at first during our read, it slowly appears that Stannis isn't a bad option at all for Westeros.

Three quarter of the fandom during ACOK/ASOS was "wtf Stannis lol no" and little by little it came with the end of ADWD "oh... maybe he's the best option out of it". It's clearly visible now somehow.

I'm really biting my nails to know how everyone will take the news of Aegon's and Connigton's victory on Storm's End (knowing that we don't know if it's sure... Arianne seems to learn it but that's the thing in Westeros, news are not always reliable).

I think Stannis gained a lot of brownie points when he went North to help against the wildlings, and then teamed up with the Northerners to defend the North against the people who killed Robb. I think Stannis just gets some love because most fans love the Starks. I always thought they'd make a great team. ^^ But somehow I doubt that GRRM's endgame is for Stannis to win the throne. I'd love him forever if that's how it ended (especially since NOBODY would expect it), but I'm afraid he has more planned with his beloved Targaryens. :( I'm just not sure if GRRM will really end the series with a guy on the throne who's not even a POV character, let alone one of his favourite main characters.

I'm still too sad about all the smart Lannisters being dead to wonder much about Aegon. With Tywin and Kevan gone, I'm fairly sure that the Tyrells will be running the show now. But I suppose you're right, it will be interesting to see how they will deal with this new enemy. It would be kind of epic if Aegon plus Dorne got their asses handed to them by the Tyrells. I want to see a bit more of Randyll Tarly being a badass. ^^

Ia. That's probably why I still think that Stannis has a lot in common with Ned. I know Ned always favoured Robert but he could have been a great team with Stannis. Maybe that's why Stannis has such a good vibe with Jon. It kinda makes sense.

I really have no idea what GRRM is aiming for. I mean he loves Tyrion the most right? Yet Tyrion is bloody loathsome in ADWD :/. I think he just goes and do whatever he has to do for the story no matter his love for the character (or maybe his loves comes from the fact that he already know the all story :/). I don't know.

The best option for Westeros could be Aegon. Dany isn't bad in the sense that she has a good heart but let's be straight here: she will not be able to rule Westeros, certainly not now and certainly not during a hard winter. Not even with dragons :/. She needs to go North and help to fight the Others. Or become Queen of the Wildlings ^^.

Ah ah I'm waiting to see how the Tyrells are going to take advantage of all this. I'm not so sure of them winning the all thing tbh. Will they try to marry Maergary to Aegon? Pretending that the marriage with Tommen is not done properly?

I agree. And I think that just added to Stannis' resentment towards Ned and his anger at Robert. He probably felt as if Robert loved Ned even though Ned had more in common with Stannis than with Robert. He probably would have been less hurt if Ned had been like Robert, fun-loving and unserious and wild.

Maybe that's why Stannis has such a good vibe with Jon.
Stannis and Jon actually seem to have even more in common than Stannis and Ned. Ned was always more about personal honour, Stannis is more about duty and justice and the bigger picture. In that, Jon is a lot like Stannis. Of course he is very concerned with keeping his vows and promises (like Ned), but he is also very concerned with doing his duty and considering the bigger picture (helping the wildlings because the real enemy are the Others). Stannis and Jon were made to be allies. ;D Need more Stannis/Jon in my life.

I really hope that Tyrion won't come out on top. I still think his storyline should have ended after ASOS. :/

yeah, Daenerys could help against the Others, but she'd be a bloody awful queen. Aegon himself might not be a bad option, but I just hate the idea of a Targaryen ruling again, no matter what he or she is like. And I doubt that the series will end with a character ruling whom we didn't even know about for four books.

I don't think that the Tyrells will win in the end, but at the moment they are more likely to profit from the situation than the Lannisters, who are fairly doomed. Aegon won't marry Margaery, Griff seems to be very set on Aegon marrying Daenerys. And technically Margaery's marriage with Tommen isn't valid yet, is it? Because it wasn't consummated yet. I honestly just like the idea of them beating the Dornish and the Golden Company in the field. Just to get beaten by someone else afterwards, hehe. ;) So many possibilities.

IA about Dany and I do understand how unsettling it would be to see a Targaryen on the throne again. It would be like "all this for freakin nothing".
I wonder what the population wants but then again they just want food and peace and to see the winter ends as quickly as possible ^^'.
Not to mention that there's Littlefinger. I know he's all set up over there in the Vale but there's always a little bit of competition between Varys and Baelish. So now that they both of their "champion" namely Aegon and Sansa, what will become of all this?

OMG GRRM JUST WRITE THE BLOODY BOOK!

Yep, I'd really hate if it ended with "oh and the awesome Targaryens with their speshulness and their dragons who conquered the continent 300 years ago conquer it again now because those Westerosi are apparently too stupid to run the place on their own."
Exactly, most normal people don't give a damn about who calls themselves king. Even most lords only care about how much power and influence they have, and they don't care if they have power at a Lannister's, a Baratheon's or a Targaryen's court.

I am curious what Littlefinger will make of Aegon. But, tbh, Littlefinger must die asap. Sansa needs to get rid of that slimy piece of shit. *hatehatehate*

Haha, yes. Until then I will just live in my happy!AU. Which means Stannis ruling with Sansa and Davos by his side, hehe. ;)
