I hate shipping unpopular pairings

Mhm. I want to sign up for asoiaf_exchange (because there can never be too many exchanges, right?), but I have such trouble coming up with prompts that are not about Stannis. Or rather, I can think of prompts that may be interesting, but I know that I'm going to be so very disappointed if someone writes one of those prompts for me and not one of my Stannis prompts. I mean, I'd love to see stuff like that Jon/Aegon AU that keeps going around in my head, or a proper Rhaegar/Lyanna non-con fic (what's up with people romanticising this pairing?), or a sympathetic take on Randyll Tarly, or a fic about the Blackfish's past or his future plans, or about Victarion getting his ass kicked during the Greyjoy rebellion, or about Roose wiggling his way out of the current situation at Winterfell ... Or I want stuff that I know nobody is going to write, like Victarion making Daenerys' dragons turn on her. I don't want to write a prompt that just sound like, "I hate this character, please kill them in an awful way." Even though it would make for an interesting story, in my opinion, it's just kind of a dickish prompt to write. And it's bad enough that all my Stannis prompts include, "please kill Melisandre?"
We're supposed to include at least one popular pairing or character, but the popular pairings or characters either don't interested me at all (Jaime/Brienne, Robb/Jon, Ned/Catelyn, that kind of thing) or there's already so much fic for them that I really don't see why I should waste a fic written just for me on this (I really like SanSan, but I know there will be enough SanSan even without me requesting it). I still have a bit of time to think about this, but in the end it just comes down to me not liking the popular pairings (or at least not being interested enough in them to request fic), to me wanting weird shit that nobody wants to write, and mainly to me wanting to read Stannis fics more than anything else.

And I just saw that one Castle episode in which one guy quotes ASOIAF. "You do not understand, detective. You woke the dragon." He sounded all serious, and there was ominous music in the background. Haha, what a crossover. I love Beckett so much. ^^

Oh, and can anyone explain to me why Chopin only wrote a single piano trio? I love that piano trio so much more than any of his other work. I'm usually not a big fan of Chopin, much of his work is too dreamy for my taste. (Yes, gasp, someone who plays the piano and does not adore Chopin, I know, what a crime.) But that piano trio  ...

Victarion as AA would be the death of Westeros tbh lol. I can see the Apocalyps from here XD.
I was so hyped about Victarion finding Danny lol and then GRRM trolled us ONE MORE TIME. If one day we see some characters getting to their destination, I will cheer irl XD.
Poor Dany ^^. She tried. I give her that tbh. She really tried but she has that terrible Mother Teresa syndrome. I fear her collision with the Septons once in Westeros. She could... idk. But I still have faith in her somehow. I still think she can do something right. I believe the shock of seeing other people's view on her (because until AFFC the only view we had in Pentos side was Dany's).

Ok I'll continue this later because some clients are being pain in the ass rn. :p

It would be an interesting twist, of course - AA is not the saviour, but the one who brings death and destruction. That would be awesome. (Though Daenerys would also make a great Evil!AA.)

Daenerys tried, and I really used to like her. But by now she has turned into such a self-righteous, entitled, delusional piece of shit that all I want is for her to die so I don't have to read hundreds of pages about her being more awesome and speshul than everyone else. I'm so sick of her, and of the way GRRM writes about her, and of her plot armour. I just want her dead. GRRM kills characters off for much smaller mistakes, and she keeps fucking up again and again and still gets out on top. Argh.

Argh, poor you. :(

I have this feeling that either her either Tyrion will die before the end of this serie. Probably an awesome full of glory death but still. I don't see how Dany could rule Westeros. She just can't imo. I think she could rule Pentos but she has no clue about Westeros, about how it works or the families and their dynamic etc. Nothing. Nada. Zero. She wouldn't even get how the people are.

But she has dragons.

And to be fair, what I want the most is those dragons gone. I want them to kick some Other's ass, save the North eventually and then fade away or die. Because in the end they are more a danger than a blessing (which is exactly the same with Dany, while she is a good person, in the end, I believe she would be more a danger to Westeros than a blessing).

Ok so back to the Greyjoys( I love wayyyyyyyyyyyyy to much to talk with you and alexandral about asoiaf lol). Victarion is totally channeling some inner Stannisgonewrong now ^^. I love it. Euron is a firestater. Well all the Greyjoys are but Euron and Victarion are King of Firestarters within ASOIAF along with Varys and Littlefinger. When you see their name somewhere in the books, you know there's trouble :p. I just dig that.

I love the pairings you just said before. Well maybe not Ned/Robert but that's mostly because I think Robert is a moron XD. They are mainly canon. I mean they are bromances therefore when I read a fic with some smut in it I'm ok because the base is real in the books. But they are actually very rare to stumble onto it. With or without the smut factor. I don't know why :/. Like Stannis/Davos is just... it's canon. For real. It's written. I don't even know how I didn't saw it before. Davos loves his wife very dearly and all but he loves as much Stannis. It's a fact. So it should be everywhere in the fics.

Ah ah I expect some changes about this once we'll have the second season XD! Yay!

I agree with you about Daenerys, but I know that many fans still think she would be a good ruler (no idea where they got that idea), and I'm afraid that GRRM might agree with them, not with us.

I also agree about the dragons. I don't want them to return long-term. The dragons as a one-time event to fight the Others, okay, but I don't want any more dragnos.

There is nothing wrong with talking a lot with us about ASOIAF: :D I think Victarion as Stannisgonewrong really fits. Back in AFFC I thought, "hey, Victarion is like a boring version of Stannis", but in ADWD I realised that Victarion is the INSANE version of Stannis. I find the Greyjoys cooler than Varys and Littlefinger, though. At least the Greyjoys are honest about wanting nothing but to rape and plunder and have fun. Varys and Littlefinger are playing the nice poiliticians, esp. Varys and his "orchestrating civil wars for the good of the realm". Yeah, right. Fuck you, Varys.

I don't like Robert, because of how he treated Stannis, but I feel for Robert. He's a dick, sure, but he's also a tragic character. I don't like him, but he interests me, if only because he had such a huge influence on Stannis.
Imo, there is even more Stannis/Davos subtext than Renly/Loras subtext, the only difference is that Renly/Loras is confirmed as slash and Stannis/Davos isn't. Of course Davos loves his wife, but I think he's one of those cases where he can easily love two people, because it's a very different kind of love. It's also why I have no trouble shipping Stannis/Davos and Stannis/Sansa at the same time - their relationships would be completely different.
But people don't like Stannis, and also this is an incredibly het-centric fandom, so I probably shouldn't be surprised about the lack of fic.

I really hope the show will bring more slashers (already happened with the tons of Robb/Jon fic), and I hope that they will emphasise Stannis/Davos on the show (rather than emphasise Stannis/Melisandre with Davos as a bit of an outsider to that relationship; DNW).
