Probably not, I know. Well, just in case there are people I haven't talked to death yet with my Stannis obsession ... I set up a Stannis fan community because people convinced me that this is a good idea. ;D Well, I think it IS a good idea, I just hope there'll be more than three people over there. So, if anyone needs more Stannis discussions, art and fic recs, ranting, general fangirling or anything else related to the true lobster snarker king of Westeros in their lives ...

Not much going on there for the moment, but I hope that will change, soon. ^^

...hello! Long time no talking, but I just saw your Stannis/Sansa fic and went - WHAT? XD I'm watching GoT at the moment, and trying to read the books at the same time as I am behind. But have sort of wanted to stop watching/reading because I am sad about all the deaths and bad things happening to people I like. ...I probably need to start liking new people.

...see, I am finding Stannis quite dull from the show, but you like him, so he has to be okay (...I'm thinking?)

Heeeey, how have you been? :) Well, the books are generally ten times better than the show. Make that a hundred times. And Stannis is possibly one of the characters who has suffered most from the adaptation (him and Catelyn). He's a lot more complex in the books, but on the show they have simplified him so much and changed or taken out a lot of the things that make him more likeable. (Stannis/Sansa is still a bit of a random "this should happen in the future at the end of the series" ship, not something that's actually happening in any way in the books. Unfortunately. ;))

I'd definitely recommend reading the books, they're so much better than the show. And many characters are a lot more complex and interesting in the books. But, yes, all the deaths and mutilations and terrible things happening to characters you love can be a bit depressing and that just continues throughout the series. But the books are great, despite all the sadness. And book!Stannis is one of the most brilliant, complex characters I've ever read about.

Yeah, the more I am watching the show - particularly this season - the more I want to stop and read the books first...I'm finding season two very rushed and ...well, kind of dull in parts. And I think that is them having to simplify so many stories into an easy to follow series. And even characters I like are beginning to grate on me. That, and I've been spoiled for major turning points in the show, and seeing how they've deviated from the books makes them even more annoying (and deviating from the characters motivations in the books).

I mean, really - what they have just done with the Robb/whatever-her-name-is character is just irritating. I was complaining to a friend about how dull it was and they explained how it is different from the books, and that just makes even less sense, particularly Robb breaking his promises *willingly* rather than doing something stupid because you are grieving. Agh.

From what I've read about Stannis, I think I probably would like him more in the books - but I think you've made me into more of a Greyjoy fan than I initially was too :D Agh, all these characters I want to dislike because I'm cheering for another side, yet they are too interesting not to like!
