50 character questions: Marius and Adam

All answers behind a cut. Or if you prefer a pdf, Eve uploaded the file here.
1. What is your full name?
Marius Henry Algernon Thorne
Adam Lucas Hayes
2. Date and place of birth?
Marius: a really posh hospital, 21st of November 1969
Adam: not-so posh hospital in London, 7th of May 1976
3. Tell me about your parents?
Marius: extremely rich parents from old money with his father running the family companies. Marius had a somewhat distant relationship with his parents because they sent him to boarding school at a young age and didn't actually see him that often. Both died when Marius was around 20, he took over his father's companies while he was still at uni.
Adam: his parents got separated when he was very young and his father was never really a part of his life. His mother was rather poor and worked several jobs to keep them afloat. She was usually too tired and too busy to spend all that much time with him and he was often left to his own devices. By the time Adam gets out of prison, she has passed away.
4. Brothers? Sisters?
None, they're both single children.
5. Where/how do you live? (alone or with someone; in what kind of home?)
Marius: Marius' preferred place is his villa in Kensington. Very classical, lots of white stone and marble, he likes simple elegance and minimalistic style. The rooms have large windows so they're very bright. The mansion in Switzerland is his second favourite place to be. It's old but renovated to fit Marius' and Adam's needs when they were in treatment. One of the wings has flat thresholds so you can use a wheelchair and handles etc. on the bathroom walls to hold onto. There's also an estate somewhere in Essex that has been in Marius' family for generations. Marius doesn't like it all that much there. It's all dark wood and heavy curtains and rather old-fashioned, not really Marius' style.
He lives alone, but he has staff wherever he stays. Security, of course, but also people who clean the rooms, who prepare his food etc. Oh, and he probably owns a lot more houses and flats as an investment (and to give to people he wants to reward).
Adam: stays with Marius these days. He also has a small, but very nice (and ridiculously expensive) flat in London, not too far away from Marius' London villa. It's where Marius put him up when he first took Adam to London and Adam did live there for quite some time, but these days he usually doesn't leave Marius' side.
6. Do you have a job? If yes what is it?
Marius: runs the world, er, a bunch of different companies. He's not so much involved with the everyday stuff (although he reads all the reports and makes suggestions and is always up to date) and more with general things, and he does a lot of political stuff, lobbying and the like. A.k.a. telling politicians what to do.
Adam: used to be a an elite soldier, in the SAS or Elite Artillery Unit. He is now Marius' hitman/bodyguard/spy/puppy-octopus-duckling/footwarmer.
7. How do you look? Hair, eye and skin color, height, weight, any marks, style of dress.
Marius: like Mark Strong ;) Mark Strong when he's pale, though, not tanned. Bald and clean-shaven. No marks or scars to speak of beyond the long scar on his chest from his heart transplant. No tattoos or anything like that. Marius dresses in suits, suits and suits. Classy, tailored suits with cufflinks, tie clips, a classy watch - the whole shebang for like 365 days a year.
Adam: like Richard Armitage. Lots of scars both from his time in the Army and in prison. He has some faint marks from where he had his Army tattoos removed. He likes practical clothes, but since Marius picks out clothes for him most of the time, they're still very classy and elegant. Slacks, dress shirts, no ties and suit jackets though except when absolutely necessary. He usually wears dark blues, charcoal grey and black when Marius picks his clothes. Has a fondness for really ugly khaki and things with with a million pockets when he picks his own clothes.
8. Do you have any allergies, mental illnesses, psychical weaknesses?
Marius: Heart failure when he was in his mid-20s due to a genetic heart defect, he received a heart transplant and miraculously survived the whole thing. He's been obsessive about his health ever since (he quit smoking, rarely drinks alcohol, eats healthy, works out regularly, has a regular sleep schedule etc.) and is actually very healthy these days. No allergies.
Adam: HIV+, stage 2 and responding very well to treatments since he's also taking on Marius' healthy style of living. Some side-effects from HIV treatment when he was still trying out different medications. He has PTSD after his time in the army and in prison but it's fairly well under control, like, he doesn't even sleep badly. He's definitely not ready to let anyone top the shit out of him any time soon. No allergies.
9. Are you left or right handed?
Both right-handed.
10. Do you have any tics, certain habits or other things like that?
Marius: He does have a bit of a hygiene schtick, showers at least twice a day and usually changes into different suits over the day (although that's more vanity than anything else). He's generally a health nut and is very concerned with what is or isn't healthy. He also prefers his rooms to be warmer than most people are used to, he takes his showers very hot and sleeps with a bajillion blankets. He has no real respect for other people's personal space, and especially not for Adam's. He's a routine person because he feels like that's most efficient and neater for everyone involved.
Adam: Has an even worse thing for being clean than Marius. Can't really sleep well unless he's checked and double-checked all the doors and windows and has made sure his gun is at hand and so on.
11. What do you usually carry in your pockets?
Marius: nothing beyond maybe a handkerchief and his phone. He wouldn't want anything to ruin his suit pockets. He keeps his wallet in the inside pocket of his suit jacket, but it's a very slim wallet with just the necessities (bit of cash, credit cards, whatever other cards he might need for something), not stuffed full of other things.
Adam: Keys (when needed, not so when he's staying with Marius anyway), money, credit card and a gun. His meds, too, when he's up and about for a longer period of time because he's supposed to take them regularly. Marius doesn't want him to ruin his streamlined silhouette so he has tried to make Adam realise that you can't cram as many things into a pair of tailored slacks as you can in military issued khakis. Eventually he'd just order Adam to empty his pockets and then pick three things Adam can carry with him ("No Adam you don't need an extra battery for your phone with you at all times and no not the whole wallet. No, let me just get one of my card cases").
12. Describe your childhood
Marius: He was mostly raised by a nanny from when he was very little and very soon sent away to boarding school (he probably went to Eton, I don't know if there are also boarding schools for even younger kids?). His parents were very distant and just not particularly interested in him. They didn't argue as such, they just didn't have much to do with each other. Although they did very much disapprove of teenage!Marius being completely unashamed about the fact that he's gay. He didn't have a lot of friends, but he was not exactly unpopular in his schools. He's a charismatic guy, good at manipulating people - maybe not someone you invite to your birthday party, but someone you treat respectfully and don't talk too much shit about him because he's a vindictive little shit. At Eton he probably started screwing the hot built gardener, while having a mostly intellectual crush on one of his teachers and spending a lot of time with him for, er, private tutoring. Actual tutoring, nothing else happened.
Adam: was also mostly left to his own devices. Never knew his father, and his mother was too busy working to spend all that much time with her son. He always had a place to live and enough to eat, but beyond that she didn't do much for him. Had a fairly tough childhood, growing up in a rougher neighbourhood. Always got into lots and lots of fights, and he was good at it, too, so eventually joining the military just seemed like the smartest thing to do. He was always a bit taller than most other kids so they were a bit scared of him, and eventually he just went with it. If everyone treats him like the scary tough guy, well, he'll be the scary tough guy.
This makes me want to hear Marius talk about his childhood and being like "ughh yeah I was such an ignorant little shit, I could've turned out just like the rest of my peers" and Adam's like sir I'm sure you were fine, kids are kids and Marius tells him about something terrible he did.
13. Did you like going to school?
Marius: mostly, yes. He was bored a lot on account of being brilliant, and he never liked people telling him what to do, but in a way he still enjoyed it. The praise from teachers, having a bunch of other kids to play with (as in play mindgames with them and manipulate them because he got bored ;)), enjoying his overall feeling of superiority. In hindsight he'd also consider school a very relaxing time compared to the actual work of running several companies.
Adam: no. It always seemed like a total waste of time to him. Not that he had a better idea of what he wanted to do with his time, but he was certain that going to school was not it.
14. Where did you learn most of the things you know?
Marius: He did learn quite a bit of stuff at uni, but mostly it's experience from running a bunch of companies at a very young age.
Adam: the military. His childhood already gave him quite a few streetfighting skills, but he's as good at what he does because the military spent a ton of money on training him.
15. Who did you look up to when you were younger?
Marius: no one, really. He had this one teacher he quite admired, and he obviously had certain authors or politicians or so whose opinions he valued, but he never hero worshipped anyone. He's too good at seeing other people's flaws for that.
Adam: As a child/teen, nobody really. Later on in the Army he might have had a sergeant whom he looked up because the guy was competent and good at his job and not some stuck-up wanker.
16. Did you like your family? Why/why not?
Marius: not much. They bored him and just didn't impress him much. His predecessors can't have been TOO incompetent, though, because then he wouldn't be absurdly rich, but I imagine that his father just didn't bother to take care of things himself, although he did have the good sense to put competent people in charge. Marius always disapproved of that lack of interest in the actual business and thought more highly of his grandfather, who used to be a proper businessman. Even when Marius was a playful little shit, he was already ambitious and thinking about how much power he'd have one day and all the things he'd do then. The heart disease was more a catalyst than a cause, a reminder that he couldn't wait until he was forty to start getting stuff done.
Adam: He doesn't think anything of his father because he never knew him, but Adam isn't really bitter about that. He just doesn't care much. As for his mother, well, he thinks she could have been worse than she was, but they just weren't super close. I doubt he really bothered to stay in touch after he moved out and joined the military, nor was he particularly heartbroken about her death when he came back to England.
17. What was your dream job?
Marius: ruling the world. ;) He always knew he'd take over his father's businesses. He probably also enjoyed the idea of going into politics for a long time, before he became disillusioned with that very quickly.
Adam: probably would have loved to be rich and famous or something, but he didn't have any plans or concrete dreams or anything, it's not like he was interested in acting or singing or anything like that. Once he joined the military, I think he really quite liked it a lot. He enjoyed the strict structure, having a place in the world, a position and clearly defined duties and responsibilities.
18. What kind of child were you?
Marius: a demanding, overconfident, brilliant little shit. Smarter than other children his age and even than most adults around him, and the kind of brat who felt the urge to rub that fact into everyone's face until he learnt some subtlety with age. He was bored a lot because school was too easy for him, so he fucked with people's minds just for the fun of it. He always knew what he wanted and expected to get it, whether through cunning or charm, and willing to turn vicious if he didn't get what he wanted. Very playful, too, not half as driven as he was after his illness.
Adam: he was kind of a shitty kid, tbh. Loud, bratty, ill-behaved, rude. Being a jerk for no other reason than to show how cool he is. Bit of a bully, too. He liked getting into fights, getting into trouble, he probably had a bit of a problem with authority, which is kind of funny when you think of how happy he was with hierarchical structures in the military.
19. What’s the most important thing you did in your life?
Marius: Marius considers his entire life one important thing that he's doing. ;) He always sees the big picture.
Adam: Saving Marius' life. That time he took a bullet for Marius, and maybe there were other times as well when he saved him. And Marius is the most important person in the universe, so saving his life is clearly the only thing that matters.
20. Have you ever had any romantic relationships? And if they ended, why did you break up?
Marius: not exactly romantic, that's not his style. He had a very close relationship with Hani at university. They were good friends and they slept with each other (although they were far from exclusive), but it wasn't really romantic. They were just hedonistic buddies. The closest thing he ever got to a romantic relationship (prior to Adam) was Lars: in his first year at Oxford, Marius found himself a hot, gorgeous, built and also intelligent blond guy, offered to pay his tuition fees plus a monthly allowance so he wouldn't have to worry about money throughout university, in return for said guy sleeping exclusively with him for one year. Seemed like a good deal to Marius (and to Lars, who hardly MINDED sleeping with this posh, good-looking English dude, especially if it meant going to Oxford for free). They ended up spending quite a bit of time together and actually got along rather well, talked quite a bit during weekends spent together etc. Marius took him home over Christmas once just to piss off his parents (and because it's Marius, he didn't pretend Lars was his boyfriend, but made it very clear that he paid Lars for any, ah, services provided). But even though they quite liked each other, it was obviously still a transaction and they were hardly in love, they just had a mutually beneficial arrangement. And then there was Adam.
Adam: no. Adam never had anything even remotely relationship-y because he was repressed as fuck (and couldn't bring himself to date some girl he had no real interest in).
21. Do you have a relationship now?
For both of them: not by the time they meet. Definitely by the time they get together. And for both of them it's the most serious relationship they ever had.
22. What is your greatest regret?
Marius: I don't think he has regrets as such. He had his wake up call so early in life that he didn't waste much time. He may regret the occasional decision he made that turned out not to have been the best possible decision, in hindsight, but he's not the kind of man to dwell on that, more the type to go about fixing the situation immediately.
Adam: spending so many of his years in the service of a country that didn't give a shit about him. He also regrets being repressed for so long and not having hot boytoys all those years.
23. What is the worst thing you ever did?
Murder. More murder. Occasional bouts of torture. Espionage. Political assassinations (yeah, that counts as more murder). Slowly, meticulously destroying people's entire lives (this one is more Marius than Adam).
24. What are you scared of?
Marius: death. Not so much death itself as some sort of metaphysical fear, but dying before achieving all the things he wants to achieve. Linked to that, he's terrified of becoming ill again, of his body failing him.
Adam: anything happening to Marius, especially if Adam himself was the cause of that or failed to protect Marius. He also has a certain fear of big black guys, for actually rather understandable reasons. They don't scare him as such, they just make him massively uncomfortable and defensive.
25. Best memory? And worst?
Marius: best is difficult, he has a lot of very good memories. His worst memory is most definitely that time his heart gave out, he almost died, went through a heart transplant and spent years terrified of his heart rejecting the transplant. That entire period of time was a huge nightmare.
Adam: worst memory, those four years in prison. Best, getting saved by Marius. Not so much the first time he saw him, he was still too suspicious then. But the following weeks and months, recovering in Switzerland, Marius giving his life new meaning, Marius taking care of him, Marius making him feel like he mattered.
26. What are your religious views?
Marius: atheist, although he doesn't spend an awful lot of time thinking about it. He finds the idea of religion rather absurd because he's a profoundly rational dude, but he's not obsessed with it. Although he does think that religion is part of an overall system that he doesn't think very highly of, lil revolutionary that he is. In his ideal world religion probably wouldn't exist anymore, but getting rid of religion is not really on top of his list of priorities.
Adam: some sort of atheist/agnostic who's never spent more than two minutes thinking about religion in his life. He doesn't come from a particularly religious background and it just never seemed like it had anything to do with his life. He was always a bit confused by fellow soldiers who were religious because ... how could you do and see all the stuff they did and saw and think there was some benevolent omnipotent god running things?
And then there was Marius.
27. Would you kill anyone? If yes, why?
This question cracks me up so much. Adam basically kills people on command for a living and has been doing so for a very long time. Marius is utterly ruthless and very much believes in solving problems permanently. Why would they kill? Adam because he's told to. Marius usually because it would bring him some advantage, although he has also had people killed for personally betraying him or messing with him, even when their death did not bring him any clear advantage. In those cases it's a matter of principle: if you betray him, you do not get away with it.
28. Would you die for anyone?
Marius: no. He considers himself too important for that.
Adam: for Marius. Without a moment's hesitation.
29. Do you make friends quickly?
Both do, for a given value of friend.
Marius: can be utterly charming and get people to like him and do what he wants, but he doesn't let them close.
Adam: can do the same on a different level, although he's more the "having a beer in some pub and chatting with the regulars" type, while Marius just charms rich and powerful people out of their money.
30. How would you describe your manners?
Marius: excellent. He's incredibly polite in that elegant, effortless way of someone born into the kind of social class where being rude is just not acceptable. If he's ever rude to someone, it is very much on purpose, but in a lot of situations he will probably go for (equally effortless) rude politeness, this kind of sharp, crisp, disdainful politeness that is better than slapping someone in the face. He's also very good at adapting his behaviour to the situation and the person he's talking to (when it comes to things like respecting cultural differences, making a shy person feel at ease etc.).
Adam: really doesn't have any manners. He got so used his whole life to being kind of a rude, aggressive jerk, that he's actually a little awkward when he tries to be polite because he's afraid of getting it wrong. He's grown a lot better at it since he met Marius, though. But in general Adam is more the abrasive type when he's not actively trying to be nice.
31. Turn ons?
Marius: His type are tall, built, handsome, blond hunks. Manly but gorgeous, preferably somewhere between 25 and 30. He likes to bottom, but he wants to be in control, no letting people manhandle him or slap him or tell him what to do. He also has a thing for slightly rough guys with a working class accent. Oh, and he's a total voyeur. Watching people is almost as much fun as doing anything himself. For that reason he quite enjoys threesomes (because he gets to spend a good part of the time watching the other two guys, and then just joining in whenever he likes and in which ever way he prefers), although I'm not sure how often he still indulges in that these days. He used to do a lot of threesomes in his uni days, though. Especially with Hani.
Adam: likes his guys slender, pale, pretty and non-threatening. Boyish, but definitely legal. Beyond that he's not really super picky. He likes them to be nice and sweet to him and he's nice and sweet back at them. Too many horrifying experiences himself to be anything BUT nice and sweet. He's into the vanilla-est of vanilla sex, just warm and cozy and gentle sex and people telling him nice things. I could definitely see Marius (and hookers too tbh) praising Adam in bed and him loving it. Adam likes getting praise from Marius out of bed, so why shouldn't he like it in bed? Marius might've picked it up from creeping on Adam and the callboys and then tries it himself.
32. Turn offs?
Marius: people trying to go all big macho dom on him. No slapping him or smacking his ass or calling him a slut or anything like that. Just because he likes to get fucked doesn't mean he doesn't want to be treated with respect – his escorts probably call him “sir” while bending him over. And since he usually pays for it, he doesn't like people pretending it's anything but what it is, and that is a mutually beneficial transaction. So he doesn't want his callboys to tell him how hot they find him or how great he is or anything like that.
Adam: anything that involves people trying to push him, force him, grab his hair, shove him etc. One of the reasons he prefers guys who couldn't force him to do anything he doesn't like even if they tried.
33. Are you close to your family? Why/why not?
No, they aren't. Both their families are dead. (See question 16.)
34. If you desperately need help, who do you turn to?
Marius: is not likely to be desperate for help. He has a lot of people on his payroll who can take care of various problems that might arise. He has security people, he has a small army of lawyers, he has various experts on different business matters who consult him etc.
Adam: well, he'd say that it's his job to help Marius, but of course the person he goes to when he needs something is Marius. Adam always sulks a bit when Marius has a problem and Adam isn't the most qualified to fix it (technical issues or something you can't solve by shooting it) so he's torn between "well they should def send the most qualified to fix that" and "BUT I WANT TO DO IT!!!11"
35. Your hobbies?
Marius: is a workaholic and doesn't have too time-consuming hobbies. He likes listening to jazz, he enjoys some forms of modern art (and classical Greek statues, unsurprisingly). To relax, he likes to take long walks, hot baths and get a massage. That's about as far as his hobbies extend.
Adam: is even worse than Marius in that regard, he doesn't have any proper hobbies. He likes to watch football, but he's not super invested in it. Marius hands him the sports pages when they have breakfast together. Maybe he had someone remove the sports pages before they put them at his table but Adam asked about them once and now he gets them as well. (I think Marius reads a lot of news papers btw, in several languages. I'm not sure how many languages he's really fluent in, he's not a super linguistic genius. I could see him speaking Arabic, though, or at least being able to read it (the bunch of different accents are a pain to speak/understand). He speaks some French and German as well, enough to read the newspaper (although he may not always understand every single thing) and to make a bit of polite conversation with business partners, but for more important matters he prefers to have an interpreter.)
36. Your most treasured possession?
Marius: beyond his money in general? Probably the villa in Switzerland and the estate there. He loves that place so much.
Adam: doesn't really care all that much about material possessions. I guess anything that was a special gift from Marius is rather treasured and precious, but nothing can be as precious as Marius' trust.
37. Favourite color and food?
Marius: favourite colour would probably be dark blue for clothes and green in general; he also likes white a lot. He likes many different kinds of food, but these days he's quite fond of the sweet stuff since he doesn't allow himself to eat that too often for health reasons.
Adam: likes simple, muted colours like brown, dark blue, grey, with a weird fondness for fugly khaki. Ever since spending four years in the desert, though, his favourite colour is green – green grass and green leaves (and Marius' green eyes). He's pretty open-minded about food. Adam has ruined his palate with processed, cheap, greasy food since he was a kid so he probably thought initially that fancy food tastes really weird. But Marius introduced him to quite a few things Adam ended up enjoying. I could see Adam liking seafood in general, probably not something he's eaten a lot in his life. Salmon or kaviar or lobster or sushi. Or all of it. He still likes a good burger with fries, but these days he eats the better kind of burger instead of the cheapest crap.
38. Favourite book/genre?
Marius: is not a big reader of fiction. He prefers to read serious stuff about politics and economics. When it comes to fiction, he'd probably prefer poetry or short stories to thick novels that would just take up too much of his time. He's not big on literature, really.
Adam: even less of a reader than Marius. Would rather read magazines or funny stuff on the internet than books. Although I could see him enjoying crime/spy novels, as long as they're more of the entertaining than the super complex variety. He probably likes to read those when he's away from Marius on long missions and needs something to kill the time.
39. Do you smoke/drink/do drugs? And if so, why?
Tsk, I love how this question is phrased as if you'd need a particular reason to do any of these things, wtf.
Marius: used to be a chain smoker and a frequent drinker (although far from an alcoholic, obviously). Probably tried pot and the like in his uni days, but he was never too fond of that. However he LOVED smoking and even years after quitting he still misses it. He stopped smoking completely, while he occasionally does allow himself a glass of wine or whiskey, certainly not more than once a week, if that. Total health nut.
Adam: probably smoked as a teenager to be cool, but he mostly quit after joining the Army because cigarettes just weren't good for his stamina (the social smoking probably continued for years, but he didn't smoke regularly). He still likes drinking, though, usually beer rather than really strong stuff. He doesn't do that much anymore because nowadays he always wants to be sober and ready when Marius needs him, but occasionally he'll still have a pint. He probably did the occasional pot or similarly harmless drugs in his youth and on leave during his Army time, but he definitely doesn't do that anymore.
40. What is your favourite way of spending a Saturday?
Marius: Most likely he'll be working. He often flies to Switzerland for a few days when he has no pressing appointments; he prefers working there, and he can take a nice walk by the lake during a break, read by the fireplace in the evening with Adam sitting by his feet, Adam's head on his thigh and Marius' fingers in Adam's hair. Best way to spend any evening, really.
Adam: loves those days in Switzerland every bit as much as Marius. He isn't really good at taking time off. When he does have a day off, he might go shopping for a nice new jacket or something like that, or have a boytoy if Marius sends him one, or go on a particularly long run through a nice park.
41. How do you deal with stress?
They're both pretty stress-resistent in general, calm and not the panicky type. And since Adam learnt most of his relaxation methods from Adam, they also do fairly similar things to calm down after a particularly stressful day: hot bath, long massage (although Marius likes those much better than Adam does, Adam is always a bit uncomfortable with strangers touching him while he's lying on his stomach), maybe a good fuck, healthy tasty food, and bed early. Marius also enjoys taking a nice, brisk walk, while Adam prefers a long, exhausting run, that relaxes him.
42. Favourite joke?
Marius: not the type to tell jokes. He can be very amused about people's misfortunes, though, especially when they brought in on themselves. Marius is probably very proficient in charming banter. And I'm sure he tells amazingly witty anecdotes from his college years or so.
Adam: Adam totally tells terrible jokes and laughs at them too. Flirty jokes! Really terrible puns! Like how his beard “grew on him”. Also, it doesn't really count as a joke, but he really enjoys playing up his working class accent either to a) irritate the snobby posh people Marius is talking to when Marius doesn't like them, or b) amuse Marius because he knows Marius loves his accent. Or both at the same time.
43. How do you react if someone disturbs your routine?
Marius: murder? ;) Nah, he'd probably be irritated, but if he's disturbed for a valid reason, he just sucks it up and deals with it. If he's disturbed for some bullshit, he gets very annoyed, berates the person that disturbed him and makes it clear that this isn't to happen again, and then moves on.
Adam: if Marius disturbs his routine, he doesn't mind. If anyone else does, he gets kinda bitchy and aggressive, but that's Adam's normal behaviour towards people who aren't a) Marius, b) cute callboys. Adam is just generally not quite as tolerant and in control of his emotions as Adam is.
44. Do you like yourself?
Marius: If he was any more full of himself, he'd overflow.
Adam: hmm. I don't think he ever liked himself much. He was aware that he was kind of a jerk, and he hated that he was all "wrong" and into guys and not just "normal" and he also hated that he cared what other people would think of him. I think he's a lot more zen these days. Mostly because it doesn't matter what HE thinks of himself, as long as Marius likes him. He's probably very well aware of his strengths and his weaknesses, but that's about it.
45. Introvert or extrovert?
Linn hates these categories so here's what Eve thinks:
Marius is extroverted, but far too busy focusing on his Plans to bond with people not vital to his goals or try to take the all the lime-light.
Adam is introverted but very focused on the world and the people around him.
46. What are you good at?
Marius: is a good planner and schemer. He's very intelligent, has great business acumen and a good feeling for political situations, mixed with just a lot of KNOWLEDGE about that kind of stuff, and he's also good at reading people. He knows how to analyse a complex situation and figure out what needs to be changed to get what he wants, and how to change that (bribing someone, replacing someone, threatening someone, changing the structure, getting rid of something, adding something ...). He always has the big picture in mind, he thinks of all the consequences and has a back-up plan for every possibility. Oh, and he's great at binding people to himself. Finding people who could be useful to him, but who also need something that he can give them, to ensure that they will be loyal to him. Challenging them and helping them reach their full potential so he can use it. He's very willing to scare people into doing what he wants them to do, but with people who work directly for him, he doesn't want them to fear him, but to be grateful to him and to like working for him. Because people who hate you will try to stab you in the back, and it's one thing if a business partner wants to do that, but another if your head lawyer or your bodyguard wants to do that.
Adam: Where Marius thinks of the big picture, Adam is good at dealing with particular situations. On top of his physical military training (hand-to-hand combat, being extremely good with all kinds of firearms, being able to break and sneak into places etc.) he does have a good hand for strategy, on a small scale. I.e. you wouldn't want him to plan how to invade a country, but if you want him to break into a building and steal something or assassinate a highly guarded head of state, he can figure out an excellent plan to do that on his own. He also has highly developed bullshitting skills to get himself out of difficult situations.
47. And what are you not good at?
Marius: You could say he really lacks empathy. Idk, I feel like it's not that relevant that he doesn't know about some things or isn't good at them, because he knows himself very well and he just doesn't DO things he's bad at. He finds someone else to do those things for him. From an outside perspective he's put himself so far above "normal humans" that he becomes a danger. He has little regard for individual lives and people he deems unworthy. He sees the goal and the big picture which makes him ruthless. And he separates himself from basically everyone because it's inconvenient to have them around.
Adam: Again, he's probably bad at some things that are not relevant to his job. I guess he sometimes lacks the big picture thinking Marius is so good at and may make decisions that seem smart in the short run, but detrimental in the long run. But he's learnt over time to try and not to make those decisions, but double check with Marius, if anyhow possible. He also just isn't good at passing in high society (unlike, let's say, Bond). He can't really hide his accent or his social background, so if you need someone to infiltrate some high society dinner party, he'd stick out like a sore thumb.
48. What words describe you?
ALL THE WORDS ABOVE IN THE 47 OTHER QUESTIONS.
Marius: brilliant, manipulative, ruthless, calm, scheming, deliberate, prudent, proud, vain, arrogant to the point of megalomania, generous (to those who deserve it in his opinion), demanding, polite, charismatic.
Adam: loyal, determined, cheeky, uncompromising, often aggressive, but also kind of sweet, traumatised, bitter, vengeful, devoted.
49. what is your weakness?
Marius: pride, and wanting too much. NO ONE EVER DIEEEEED FROM WANTING TOO MUUUUUCH. *starts crying*
Adam: his devotion to Marius, oddly. His priority is always Marius' safety, not necessarily Marius' plans.
50. What would you want to add that you feel is important?
MBTI ramble by Eve:
Marius is most likely an ENTJ,“The Commander”. He's a natural leader, has Big Plans and Visions and enjoys being in the position to make them reality. He has high expectations of people around him and even more so of himself. Can be perceived as unfeeling because of his objective and uncompromising way of tackling problems and decision-making.
Adam is most likely an ISFJ, “ The Protector”. He seeks long-lasting and meaningful relationships with authorities and people around him. Adam is dutiful and wants to be relied on. A lack of authority figures when he was younger and guilt for breaking societal norms with his sexuality made it easy for Adam to gravitate to the military to find some sort of purpose and structure. He feels incredibly betrayed by his country and source of stability for abandoning him when he needed them for once which makes teaming up with Marius feel like salvation.
