I felt it was kind of telling about their relationship that Eric did let Godric go without too much of a fight. Like maybe as much as Eric didn't want to, he understood on some level.
I think most people agree with you on the Godric POV, we don't see a lot of it being written. We didn't really see much of him, either, and in very limited ways, so that adds to the difficulty, I think. Maybe if we *crosses fingers* get more flashbacks, it will become a bit easier.
