Picspam: Mark Strong in Body of Lies

This really deserves the word 'spam' by now, doesn't it? I'm sorry, I've been meaning to post these caps with the ones yesterday, but this incredibly slow internet connection is driving me insane. Today's spam material: Body of Lies. Again, awesome movie. I have to admit that I really like Leonardo DiCaprio sometimes, even if I paid much more attention to Mark in this movie than to him. ;) Mark is just incredible - I never knew English with an Arabic accent could sound sexy. It can. I absolutely love the characters Mark chooses to play, and in this movie he isn't even a real bad guy. Not a very nice guy at times, but definitely not the big villain. Anyway, pictures say more than my rambling, let Mark convince you to watch the movie. :)
Hani Salaam, head of the Jordanian secret service. Notice surprise!DiCaprio in the background. He will return later in the picspam.
I love the beard. And the hair. And his clothes.
And his smile/laugh.
And ... okay, I love everything about this man.
He also pulls off a great WTF-face in this movie. Repeatedly.
Did I mention that he smokes in this movie?
I'm sorry, but I couldn't resist spamming you with these few seconds.
My brain cannot handle so much sexy in one picture. Guh.
Watching someone getting whipped and not giving a shit.
It's not that Hani Salaam is too clumsy to close his cufflinks. He just thinks it's more practical to let his wife do it. ;)
Hand. All I'm saying.
I really love his style. DiCaprio in that outfit just makes Mark look even better. ;)
He's classy even when sprawling. oO

This picture is kinda pointless, it's just here because I love it when Mark slaps people around. ;) Especially when he looks so wonderfully angry while doing it:

Smoking should not be so incredibly sexy:

He's obviously thinking what every sane person would be thinking: "OHMYGOD I want to jump him and I need to concentrate to control myself!" Btw, did I mention that I ship them?

This picture is, imo, a perfect example of UST.

No Mark picspam without at least one funny face.

Creepy.

I don't think anyone is still surprised by the amount of hand-shots in my picspams.

We're almost done. Have some more hand and smoking porn:

He's looking at DiCaprio's character. How could I NOT ship them?

He looks like he's trying not to laugh. ;)

Somehow this picspam turned out to be longer than intended ... It's Mark's fault, not mine. ;) Btw, does anyone know if there's fic for these two? Or does anyone want to write some? ;)
There will certainly be more picspams, I just don't know when. I still need to post the Hans Matheson caps from The Mists of Avalon.

Date: 2010-07-02 04:10 pm (UTC)His American accent is flawless as well, but..I have to say (and I say this with affection because I am from New York, his voice loses its mellifluousness and sexiness when he speaks as an American. Now, I am not faulting Mark, nor am I saying that an American accent necessarily is devoid of these qualities. (I will again cite Daniel Day-Lewis in "Last of the Mohicans." His accent as a pioneering American was sooo sexy...I think it was because he lowered his register.)
Mark's register seems higher as an American; maybe that's where it loses its charm, for me anyway. If I were Mrs. Strong, I would have him speak to me in a Jordanian accent to get me in the mood:
"Honey, speak Hani to me!" :))

Date: 2010-07-03 03:35 am (UTC)I'd do anything to have him whisper to me everything that ends with "..my dear". He makes us all horny in that film.

Date: 2010-07-11 10:14 pm (UTC)Hani's accent is very sexy, and I also love Harry's cockney. And I was so impressed by his French in Robin Hood. Of course, he does have an accent, and he wasn't supposed to sound like a native speaker, but his French pronunciation was still really good. And sexy - and it's damn hard to make French sound sexy, imo. ;)

Date: 2010-07-12 01:16 pm (UTC)Are you British? And no offense taken at your remark about not liking American accents. I don't like Yorkshire accents, or rather, I can't understand them at all. But when my sweetie, Sean Bean, is speaking, he makes it so charming I forget.
It's hard for an American to understand the cockney accent as well. In Rocknrolla, I didn't get half of what anyone was saying until I activated close captioning and read it. I liked how they sounded but could not understand the words. I also could not understand the multiple plot lines and had to watch the director's commentary to understand those.
I have not seen Kick-Ass yet, but did see the Hit Girl/D'Amico fight scene on YouTube. He says a few words in that scene, and he certainly does sound like a native-born American.

Date: 2010-07-13 08:56 am (UTC)Oh, no, I'm not even a native speaker of English. I'm German, actually, but I speak English English and have generally more of an affinity for the UK than for the US. Cockney is sometimes really difficult to understand, but I always assumed that was because I'm not a native speaker. I'm surprised it's difficult for you as well. Although I think that after a while you start understanding more and more. In RocknRolla I hardly understood anything in the beginning of the movie, but by the time the movie was over I understood almost everything they said. I was very proud of myself. ;)
That's what I thought, his American sounds perfect. Not as stilted as many British actors, who sound ... well, like Brits trying to sound American.
