Picspam: Mark Strong in Body of Lies

This really deserves the word 'spam' by now, doesn't it? I'm sorry, I've been meaning to post these caps with the ones yesterday, but this incredibly slow internet connection is driving me insane. Today's spam material: Body of Lies. Again, awesome movie. I have to admit that I really like Leonardo DiCaprio sometimes, even if I paid much more attention to Mark in this movie than to him. ;) Mark is just incredible - I never knew English with an Arabic accent could sound sexy. It can. I absolutely love the characters Mark chooses to play, and in this movie he isn't even a real bad guy. Not a very nice guy at times, but definitely not the big villain. Anyway, pictures say more than my rambling, let Mark convince you to watch the movie. :)

I love the beard. And the hair. And his clothes.


And his smile/laugh.


And ... okay, I love everything about this man.


He also pulls off a great WTF-face in this movie. Repeatedly.





Did I mention that he smokes in this movie?




I'm sorry, but I couldn't resist spamming you with these few seconds.


My brain cannot handle so much sexy in one picture. Guh.


Watching someone getting whipped and not giving a shit.


It's not that Hani Salaam is too clumsy to close his cufflinks. He just thinks it's more practical to let his wife do it. ;)

I really love his style. DiCaprio in that outfit just makes Mark look even better. ;)

I can't decide what looks hotter, but I definitely LOVE the stubble. He looks incredibly classy with it, it's unbelievable.

I usually don't like Arabic accents at all, but Mark pulls it off so beautifully. You DEFINITELY need to watch this movie! :D

I know what you mean about the wardrobe in this movie. Have you heard the story? A Arab business man had all of these clothes custom made at a high-end London haberdasher but died before he could take delivery, so the production bought them and MS wears the hell out of them!

Oh, I didn't know that, but it absolutely makes sense now that you say it. Mark looks so elegant and gorgeous in this movie. Then again, Mark simply has style. I love what he wears at premieres, he always looks so dashing.

Yay, I made people watch Body of Lies! It's amazing, isn't it? Mark's acting, and his STYLE, and ohgodyes his accent. And his shameless flirting with DiCaprio's charaacter. ;)

There will probably be more picspams at some point. I have, like, 1000 caps from The Long Firm, but it's always so much work to choose the best ones.

NEVER LIE TO ME! right...Hani, ur american baby there lied to you about Omar Sadiqqi, you were pissed BUT you still cares, meet him again when he comes back to Jordain - AND MIND YOU, HANI SAVES FERRIS'S ASS (withhotnessansstyle), AND ehem.. NGEEEEEEEEE!! WHO WANTS BODY OF LIES (and secks) SEQUEL???!!!! HANI SALAAM is by far the hottest role he ever played i think, next to Blackwood..AND Archy. but but.. HANI's character was tooo fucking short!

I too would have loved a sequel just about Hani: his rise to head of Jordanian intelligence, his family life, etc. But because this movie did so poorly and not that many people went to see it, Mark's pitch perfect performance went largely unnoticed. I blame Ridley and Crowe. Their last venture, Robin Hood, also tanked.

I think Mark as Hani gave a star-making performance. But then again, I have not yet seen him in anything that he has been bad in, and many of his performances were star-making...unfortunately the movies did so poorly, no one got to see Mark. His turn as Septimus in Stardust was spectacular. Once again, he stole the movie. I think that if they had paired him with Michelle Pfieffer in that movie, they would have lit up that movie like a rocket. Two beautiful, charismatic characters.

To get back to Body of Lies, I thought the exchange between Ferris and Hoffman right before they walk into Hani's office was very strange. When Hoffman quotes Snead's line : "If you're not thinking about p***, you're just not concentrating...my dear," is he implying that Hani likes Ferris in a sexual way? I would have thought from that (and the "my dears" to Ferris that Hani had a thing for young men. Also the way he is kind of enjoying the whipping of the naked agent) But we are shown that not only is Hani a married father of two, but that he also likes the blond ladies at the local nightclubs. So clearly, Hani is hetero.

So what was with that line?

It's amazing how Mark can play such very different characters. I adore all his accents, whether Arabic or American or Cockney or Scottish or whatever. He does them all perfectly.
Hehe, they're so slashy you'd have to be BLIND not to see it. :D

I want sequel movies about all of Mark's characters. :/
