another meme! so much spam!

I'm in the right mood for memes right now. And I should really go to bed already. -.-

Give me a character (or ten) from any fandom you know I'm in, and I'll let you know:

* How I FEEEEEL about this character
* All the people I ship romantically with this character
* My non-romantic OTP for this character
* My unpopular opinion about this character
* One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

HANI SALAAM, MY DEAR.

[identity profile] linndechir.livejournal.com 2011-09-27 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
Good choice. :D

1) SO MUCH LOVE. I'm too tired to express how awesome Hani is. Words fail me. I will just bow down and stare at him smoking his cigars and listen to his VOICE. GUNF.

2) Duh, Roger. If you can call what they have romantic. ;)

3) Also Roger? I like them in any possible way. ;)

4) I wasn't aware that there are popular and unpopular opinions about him? Are there?

5) He didn't die, that's more than I have come to expect from Mark's characters. I want a sequel, though. ^^ And I wish he had bitchslapped Ed.

[identity profile] sternflammenden.livejournal.com 2011-09-27 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
You know that it's coming; but I'll give you a twist.

Renly Baratheon.

[identity profile] linndechir.livejournal.com 2011-09-27 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
Ha, I did not see that one coming. ;)

1) I'm a bit torn about Renly. I really liked him in AGoT, he seemed to be sensible, smart and overall a good guy. Even his dickish comments about his brother were alright, because we all like to make dickish comments about our siblings. Renly is easy to like, he's nice and sweet and says witty things. But ACoK just showed us what an irresponsible, mean, superficial jerk he is, how he doesn't give a fuck about anyone but himself (and Loras), how he's really just selfish and greedy underneath the pretty smiles. I still don't hate Renly, but I can't like him anymore, and it makes me so mad how many people in fandom feel sorry for his death and hate Stannis for it. If anyone in this series had it coming, it's Renly.

2) Only Loras. Their relationship is definitely sweet, and I can't imagine Renly with anyone else.

3) In a perfect world, I wish I could ship him and Stannis as a brotherly bromance after they got over their differences. ;)

4) He had it coming, and I do not feel one bit sorry for him.

5) I wish he had just bent the knee to Stannis. Everything would have been so much easier, and so much pain could have been avoided.

[identity profile] sternflammenden.livejournal.com 2011-09-27 01:32 am (UTC)(link)
1. I know what you mean. Renly would have been the worst king out of all the Baratheon brothers, frankly, and wouldn't have been equipped for the responsibility and gravity. He's really charismatic in GOT but a massive idiot elsewhere. And he has one of the best creepy deaths in the series.

[identity profile] linndechir.livejournal.com 2011-09-27 06:27 am (UTC)(link)
I agree, Renly would have been an awful king. He would have wasted even more money on tourneys and feasts, he would leave ruling to scheming fucks like Littlefinger, and his kids would probably be the same. One of the many things i love about Stannis is that I'm fairly sure that guy would drill his son into being a good king. You know, if he ever had one. Renly should have just been Stannis' propaganda minister. That would have been awesome.

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2011-09-27 10:13 am (UTC)(link)
This is a good chance. :D

Ok, Sandor Clegane.

[identity profile] deborahkla.livejournal.com 2011-09-27 10:14 am (UTC)(link)
Okay, I'm going to be very boring and obvious, but that's just too bad.

Hans Landa, of course.

[identity profile] linndechir.livejournal.com 2011-09-27 11:17 am (UTC)(link)
How surprising. ;) Couldn't you have given me my darling Hellstrom? ;)

1) Duh, obvious answer. I adore him. Not much else to say.

2) Hellstrom. Nobody else in canon comes to mind. I mean, I'm sure there are countless other people Landa had more or less long relationships with, but I doubt they were characters in the movie. ;)

3) I'd ship him with Hellstrom even without the sex. And in a very mutual mind-fucking way I ship him with Heydrich. There are also some characters in other fandoms that Landa should meet one day, in crazy crossover world.

4) Does not shipping him with Shosanna count as an unpopular opinion? Because I honestly don't give a fuck about that pairing. I also wish he had got away without any punishment at the end of the movie. Just because.

5) See above.

[identity profile] linndechir.livejournal.com 2011-09-27 11:21 am (UTC)(link)
Sandor, of all people. Okay. I like Sandor.

1) I love him as a character. He's fascinating, he has some beautiful lines, I love his character development (and I'm curious where it's going), he's one of the most interesting characters when it comes to the subject of knighthood and its values (which I generally find a very interesting theme in ASOIAF) ... There's nothing I have -against- Sandor, I think.

2) Sansa, although I think I only ship it as unconsummated love. I don't see them getting together.

3) Arya. Their time together was so epic. And Stranger, of course, the most awesome horse in the series. ;) I also think we should have had some scene with Bronn and Sandor.

4) While I ship Sandor/Sansa, I don't want them to get together and get a "happily ever after" ending. I just don't see it happening, and I know that's an unpopular opinion at least among SanSan shippers.

5) I hope he's not dead. ;) And I hope he gets to kill UnGregor.

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2011-09-27 11:28 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know what other Sansa/Sandor shipopers are like, but I am in agreement with your every word.

[identity profile] linndechir.livejournal.com 2011-09-27 11:30 am (UTC)(link)
WEll, some of them seem to agree with me/us, but a lot of them seem to ship them in a very traditional "I want them to marry and have kids" way, and I just don't see that as a realistic outcome for the pairing. I also don't think it would make either of them happy.

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2011-09-27 11:36 am (UTC)(link)
obviously, everyone is allowed their own opinion, but I just don't see it. The only outcome I see (squinting) is something that is actually a common "future" in snasaxsandor fanfiction - after all is said and done Sansa becoming a mistress of Winterfell (on her own), Sandor working for her with occasional sex. I quite like this outcome actually as I DON'T want Sansa to "marry happily ever after" with some princeling. I want her to make it on her own and have men at her feet. (Well, Sansa marrying Stannis with occasional threesome with their worker Sandor will be fine too. :D)

Edit: but I am 100% sure sandor is gonna die, though.

I'm usually not a big fan of endings in which someone marries and lives happily ever after, but for Sansa I really hope this will happen. It's what she wants - a happy relationship with a man who loves her and whom she loves, and I'm fairly sure she wants children as well. I usually hate this kind of ending because it doesn't make any sense for many female characters, but it does make sense for Sansa. I want her to get what she wants. Which is one of my reasons for shipping her with Stannis, because he's enough of what she wants, but in a way she never expected.
Sansa as somewhat lonely mistress of Winterfell who occasionally bangs her bodyguard Sandor (and is probably married to some guy she doesn't love, because Winterfell needs an heir) just makes me incredibly sad. She deserves better.

I agree, Sandor will most likely die. But I'm okay with that, because he's one of those characters who are probably incapable of having any sort of happy ending.

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2011-09-27 11:46 am (UTC)(link)
I would rather prefer her marrying, but I am really against the common wish for Sansa to marry a beautiful young princeling. I just am. I think she is already beyond the point of only seeing the Outward beauty. So when she marries I want a guy that will make her happy, older or younger or anything. Just the guy that will make HER happy instead of the other way around. A shiny young prince -I do not wish that. AT ALL. This will be coming back to the beginning and .. I don't like it.

Lonely mistress - yes, also not my favourite scenario (this is why I said "squinting"), but at least I can see it happening without characters being untrue to themselves.

For Sandor a happy ending will be to kill Gregor. I have also seen many sansa/Sandor shippers expressing sort of an opinion that Sandor is all about Sansa. I don't think so. I think he is all about Gregor.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want Sansa to marry the kind of beautiful young princeling she dreamt of pre-GoT. I don't quite understand people who mind when Sansa is shipped with an older man, because I think Sansa would be way happier with a more mature man than with a guy her own age. I want Sansa to realise (she already has done so, a bit) that outward beauty isn't what mattered, that whether a man makes her happy or not does not depend on him being a pretty, gallant knight from the songs. I think many people ship Sandor/Sansa for precisely that reason: because it's about Sansa learning to love someone for other reasons than "my beautiful golden prince SPARKLE".

I can see it happening, but I don't want it to happen. Also, I don't think Sansa will be mistress of Winterfell. It looks like Rickon will be returning, and I think his character would be fairly pointless if he doesn't end up being the Stark in Winterfell. I just want Lord Rickon. ;)

I agree. Sure, Sansa is important to Sandor, but he'd abandon her in a heartbeat if it meant getting a chance to kill Gregor. So I hope that he'll manage. And then, I don't know, die defending Sansa, or die helping her kill Littlefinger. ^^

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2011-09-27 12:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, i am the same. To tell the truth, I know you don't like Tyrion, but I think if/when he sorts himself out he can be a good husband to her and I am 75% sure this is where the books are going - I am just surprised why is it just me who thinks so. :D The probability of this happening is really high. Tyrion needs sorting out, but he is going to be a good husband and right for Sansa class-wise.

Because yes, Rickon is going to be the Lord of Winterfell. I just mean "I see it happening in character believability way". The scenarios of them marrying = SO NO POSSIBLE AT ALL.

I think it is going to be a big scene involving gregor, Sansa and Sandor at the end. But I think Sansa will sort Littlefinger out herself (not killing him, though).

I'm okay with Tyrion, I just think he should have died. Not because I dislike him, but because his storyline should be over. But I despise Tyrion/Sansa so much. It's one thing for her to look beyond mere looks, but another to end up with Tyrion, of all people. The girl deserves so, so much better, and I don't think Tyrion would be an even remotely good husband to her. Not even if he pulls himself together. If this happens in canon, I will be so, so mad.

But Littlefinger must die. As long as he's alive, he's dangerous.

[identity profile] alexandral.livejournal.com 2011-09-27 12:31 pm (UTC)(link)
lololol. I think my judgement for Tyrion might be clouded by own like for him. I would have totally married him (and would have sorted him out myself :D, he needs a good head-cleaning) . But yes, we'll agree to disagree on this. I just think this is likely what is going to happen in the books, and although I don't want to brag (:D) - I do have a high count of ending predictions. But if Martin surprises me, I am happy for Sansa to marry ANYONE, just NOT the perfect prince Aegon or someone else equally priceling-like. Because this is just going back to square one.

there will be a big Vartys/Littlefinger standoff at the end and they will kill each other. :D

I understand liking Tyrion, and he might be a good husband for some women, but not for Sansa. Just, no way. I also doubt that the story is going that way - and if it does, I doubt that Sansa would ever be happy about it. She wouldn't even give him a chance, just like she didn't before. Why would she once he comes back? But, yeah, let's agree to disagree.
Definitely not Aegon. Just, no one her age. The girl needs a mature man. Stanniiiiiiis. ;) Okay, I know THAT will never happen, but it should.

Ugh. I hope they die far earlier than that. I can't even decide which one I hate more. LF, I think, but Varys is close.

John Winchester!

You know you want to. (;

[identity profile] linndechir.livejournal.com 2011-09-27 01:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course I want to. I love John. <3

1) I adore John, he's my favourite Winchester, and I don't know why fandom hates so much on him. He was a normal guy who ended up in an absolutely terrible situation, and he tried to make the best of that situation. Of course he made mistakes on the way (mostly abandoning Dean (and Sam) and trying to fight the demon on his own), but mostly I think he did a good job. He wanted to keep his boys safe, he wanted them to know how to protect themselves, and I don't understand how people can hate him for assuming that responsibility instead of sticking his head in the sand and pretending that everything is alright.

2) Dean. <3 And I don't feel one bit ashamed for it. I love John/Dean, it's one of my favourite pairings ever. I'm honestly not too big on John/Mary.

3) Bobby. They must have been hilarious together and I wish we would have seen them together on the show.

4) I think he did a good job raising his sons, as far as that was possible in his situation. I don't think he was a bad father, and I generally love him. That's pretty unpopular, I think. I also think that John and Dean are alike, not John and Sam.

5) I wish he hadn't died, or had come back, or at least appeared in flashbacks. I'm happy JDM's career is going so well, but it's still a pity that there are so few episodes in which John actually appears. :( Tbh, I think I would have loved if Supernatural was about John and Dean rather than Dean and Sam. ;)

I am just surprised why is it just me who thinks so. :D The probability of this happening is really high.

i've always assumed this was their future and have said so often. sadly, i've said it on westeros.org where there are serious sansa lovers who only see her very romantically with sandor. just thinking about some of the analysis i've read about her last interaction with him in her room is making me shudder. i'm with you and linn, this should just not be. and i also think sandor's days are numbered. i agree there seems to be some foreshadowing of a showdown with the mountain, the dog and the little bird.

as for tyrion, i've believed this since she began thinking back on her time with him as allayne. the only thing i'm not 100% sure about is whether tyrion will live. i'm worried about his kinslaying coming back to haunt him.

i am DYING to know how things are resolved with sansa and littlefinger. while i really think all those fans writing unflattering things about martin is rude, cruel and just plain awful, i totally understand their motivation :)

[identity profile] geeklee.livejournal.com 2011-09-27 02:29 pm (UTC)(link)
I can't even decide which one I hate more. LF, I think, but Varys is close

this reminds me that i noticed yesterday no one had opted to discuss these two pivotal characters in the discussion post. i was hoping someone would because i would love to understand them better. well, at least varys. i feel like i know what and why littlefinger is but what is varys' real motive? is it just to put aegon on the throne and if so, couldn't he have accomplished it differently?

i have so many questions!

[identity profile] linndechir.livejournal.com 2011-09-27 02:31 pm (UTC)(link)
I think we can't yet know what Varys wants, we need more info on him. For the moment anything about him is pure speculation. *shrug* I honestly don't care much. But maybe someone will still pop up and write a post about one of these two.
