Stannis/Sansa!

1. Very recently, although I'm not sure when exactly I started shipping them. It's obviously nothing that happened in canon. I was just thinking that Stannis needs to be king, but Selyse is awful and needs to DIAF. But Stannis doesn't have a son yet, so he'd have to remarry ... from there I came to Sansa very quickly. It started out as complete crack, but the more I think about it the more I think they'd be happy together.
2. Finding to each other. They're extremely different people who have virtually nothing in common. He isn't the man of her dreams, and he doesn't even have a woman of his dreams. She'd be scared of him, he'd just see a necessity in her. It will take them time in the beginning to start seeing more in each other and give each other a chance to be happy, rather than just go like, "well, we have to marry, let's hope it doesn't suck too much."
3. How good they would be for each other. She'd finally get the life she always wanted, and he'll finally have someone who loves him for who he is, in the end. Not to mention that he'd finally get a son. ;)
4. That it will never happen in canon.
5. Since nothing HAS happened, I can't really answer that.
6. I have trouble thinking of anyone else I'd want to see Sansa with. I ship Sandor/Sansa, but I can't see them in a relationship. I guess there are other nice guys out there who could make Sansa happy but I can't think of any other canon character I'd want to see her with. And while I ship Stannis with Davos and Jon, none of these ships are exclusive. I ship him with all three of them at the same time. ;) Other women... I guess shortly after Renly's death Stannis/Margaery might have worked, if not for Selyse. But I doubt they'd be happy together.
7. They ARE my happily ever after, the cliché fairytale, only with Stannis as hero, trololol. ;) King Stannis, Queen Sansa, Prince Steffon and a bunch more kids, and them being strangely happy together after the first months of awkwardness, embarrassment and insecurity.

Since you also seem to ship them, how do you see them?

I like them mostly because of how much asexual they are. Yes, Sansa is asexual too. And because he would treat her with respect and be a loyal husband. Plus he would probably present her with something pretty if she gave birth to a healthy boy, and for him that a "I love you my bealtiful queen!"

Haha, funny, because I actually imagine them having a rather happy sex life. But I agree that he would totally love her for giving him a son.
