Some things need to be shared ...

... and this makes me laugh madly every time I look at it, so I HAVE to share it with you.

For those of you who don't understand any German, the little text under the picture reads: "Holiday pictures: Tim Wiese and his sexy girlfriend Grit"
Yeah. I'm fairly sure the guy on the left is indeed Tim Wiese, but I have serious doubts that Torsten Frings, despite his long hair and Wiese's possessive arm around him, has decided to change his name to Grit so he could be Wiese's girlfriend ... Call me childish, but I can't stop laughing about this. Especially since "his sexy girlfriend Grit" would sound ridiculous enough even without the mismatched picture.

Attention: the following post is completely pointless and only consists of more or less funny pictures. If you have something useful to do, don't let me distract you.

I have to force myself not to look at this picture. Last time I did, I was out for three minutes or so - while I was on the phone with a friend who thought I had completely lost my mind now.  Manuel Neuer's zombie impression is ... impressive. Don't you just see him saying, "I'm gonna eat your brain and gain your knowledge!"

Funnyface competition with this ...

.. and this ...

... and this:

I'm not sure what's better, though: Jogi's funny expression, or Per's and Miro's amused looks.

Not really a candidate for the funnyface competition, but Frings' "Dude, get off me"-expression still makes me laugh:

I have no idea what Kahn is doing. Judging by Miro's expression, he's pretty confused as well.

.... especially since he's more used to enemy goalkeepers kneeling for him and offering him the ball. That's how epic he is. They don't even try to keep him from scoring anymore. ;)

Okay, I have to make up for posting the picture on which Neuer looks like a zombie:

Better, huh?

I don't even know. oO

I'm not sure what Ballack is trying to say, but Merte does not look convinced/impressed.

I love this picture so much. And not only because it has Schweini and Lahm together.

What is this gravity thing and why should our epic goalkeeper care about it?

I know, there's a distinct lack of Poldi and Müller in this. But then again, making funny faces seems to be their natural state of being, so I would have ended up posting dozens of pictures of them.

I am aware that this post is completely pointless and probably not even funny to most of you. My excuse? Well, my mood right now can be summed up easily by this picture of Wiese's sexy girlfriend Grit:

Sorry for wasting your time with this. :) I know that I owe a lot of you replies to comments and e-mails, and I will get to it ... hopefully today, but definitely soon. Somehow writing my fic for the [livejournal.com profile] blackwoodcoward  fic exchange made me even more apathetic than I was before, so I'm pretty much doing nothing except watching Bones. And collecting silly pictures of football players. This is what happens when I lack the energy to work on my bloody paper for university. Apathy is not fun, I tell you. That's why I had to do this cheer-up-post. ;) I don't know about you, but it cheered me up, and that's better than nothing.

[identity profile] serpentsign.livejournal.com 2010-09-12 03:58 pm (UTC)(link)
YOU KNOW I LOVE THESE PICSPAMS OF TEH LOVELIES <3

okay, so maybe you don't but I do :D and it cheered me up as well :D :D :D

Omg there is so much to lol at here XD Lil' boys and their balls, seriosuly. yeah...

[identity profile] linndechir.livejournal.com 2010-09-12 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Yay, somebody loves my insane picspams. It's good to know that I cheered you up as well. ^^

Boys and their balls? Riiiiiiiiiight. ;D

(I feel so inferior because your Hans icon is cuter than my Hans icon. That's sad, isn't it? ;))

[identity profile] serpentsign.livejournal.com 2010-09-12 08:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I approve of these insane picspams :D They make a good complementary to the Mark overload on my f-list XD

(Psshhhht, your Hans icon is TEH CUTE, mine is...cute too, but it has a smiley mug+ Hans so there isn't much to do about it ;D Yours has pretty sparkly eyed!Hans! <3)

[identity profile] serpentsign.livejournal.com 2010-09-12 09:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh and on something that has nothing to do with football: I just watched the 2nd episode of Bones and please tell me that you heard House's voice in your head too, saying "It's never Lupus" when they talked about it?

[identity profile] linndechir.livejournal.com 2010-09-12 09:14 pm (UTC)(link)
I have been trying to figure out how there can be an OVERload of Mark ... There's never too much Mark. ^^

Tbh, I didn't really think of it. I was too amazed by the show being epic in general. I'm not sure whom I love more, Bones or Booth. So, do you enjoy the show? ^^

[identity profile] serpentsign.livejournal.com 2010-09-12 09:28 pm (UTC)(link)
True, but a lil bit of football is never wrong :D

Yeah, I like it, it's funny it's smart and entertaining ^^ Booth is so goddamn funny XD Holy shit, that guy <3

[identity profile] linndechir.livejournal.com 2010-09-12 09:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I couldn't agree with you more. .) (<<<pirate smiley, just for you) Yeah, Booth is pretty much perfect. I hesitated to watch the show for a long time, because I thought "iek, main character is a woman, 99% chance she's a stupid twat". But I just adore Bones. Oh God, and her interactions with Booth get funnier every episode. I just watched an episode in which they listen to music together, yelling the lyrics at each other. While Booth was playing the air guitar. Also, Hodgins gets constantly funnier as well.

[identity profile] serpentsign.livejournal.com 2010-09-12 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)
,) <-- flirty pirate smiley for YOU!

skdjfhkdsf, wohooo, I'm watching the cannibal episode at the moment, but had to stop so I could write some fic before bed. And hahaha, yelling lyrics? win!

And yes, Hodgins, he's awesome XD A somewhat more socially adept version of Hodges in CSI :D

[identity profile] linndechir.livejournal.com 2010-09-12 10:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Looks like a Chinese pirate to me, sorry. ,)

Fic is an acceptable excuse, I can see that. Right, going to bed ... I should do that one of these days. ;)

Erm, I wouldn't know, I don't watch CSI. I sometimes saw parts of episodes on TV when I was at my parents' (I don't have a TV), but it seemed rather dull to me. :/ I'm not really into most crime-fighting shows.

[identity profile] serpentsign.livejournal.com 2010-09-12 10:23 pm (UTC)(link)
XD Okay so, chinese pirate for you, in the best possible way...chinese pirate played by Ken Watanabe...so not a chinese, a japanese :D

mmm, one of these days...

I like it, or rather liked it, but there is a thing as too much ^^

[identity profile] wb-deep-play.livejournal.com 2010-09-12 08:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I generally approve of your selection ;)

Sans duckfaced Neuer...

Since you liked the girlfriends, have one of them with a new do!
title or description

[identity profile] linndechir.livejournal.com 2010-09-12 08:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, you know I love Neuer (while I'm not exactly a Wiese fan, sorry ;)). Glad you approve of the rest, though.
(Admit it, you only dislike Neuer because his bitchface even outbitches Frings' (rather impressive) bitchface. ;))

Lang&hart? *facepalm* I just hope that was on purpose.

[identity profile] wb-deep-play.livejournal.com 2010-09-12 09:27 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't mind Neuer :)

And I DO NOT ship Wiese ---only for the lols :) As for his sexy gf... He outbitches everything. Best. Cuntface. Ever.

Neuer is too greenhornish -- needs more own goals to develope a serious bitchface.

But he is a very good goalie and I am totally down with him being our #1 & guarding the GNT's goal. He is fierce!

[identity profile] linndechir.livejournal.com 2010-09-12 09:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I thought so. There are some OTPs that should not be touched, no matter how much Frings might want to be Wiese's sexy gf. ;)

You serious? Maybe I don't know sexy gf's bitchface as well as I think I do, but this is pretty good:

Tbh, I think being more the nice, innocent-looking type makes Neuer's bitchface even more impressive. Wait a sec, am I actually trying to convince you that his BITCHFACE is best? This is really sad on my part. -.- Anyway, this is nothing but my attempt at getting you to prove me wrong and show me better gf-cuntface-pics.

Heh, okay, I didn't mean to bitch. ^^ Because my bitchface is, admittedly, just stupid. ;)

[identity profile] wb-deep-play.livejournal.com 2010-09-12 09:55 pm (UTC)(link)
A_ha! Taking you are up for a bitchface-off???

I think just about any pic that has Frings in it qualifies... A friend of mine made a mood meme of him, basically using only one bitchfaced pic to illustrate the various moods;) It worked.

As far as OTP's goes. I really don't "ship" any. I am not sooo into ff actually. I am fanish about the entire team - including the bus driver!
So I am equally ok at you making fun off frings or fritz or whomever. I generally ship irony and a good sense of reality when judging :)

Yet u do get the impression all the players are out there for the lols only sometimes! I mean srsly, how can Wiese even touch that subject when farting into BILD's mic... :))

[identity profile] linndechir.livejournal.com 2010-09-12 10:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Not sure if I'm up for it. It would mean having to sort through too many pictures to find the bitchfaces. ;) But I am always willing to acknowledge the grandeur of other people's bitchfaces. ;)

ROFL, sounds like an awesome mood meme. But he's not always bitchfacing ... just very often. ;)

Okay, I will try not to annoy you too much with slashy thoughts. I just enjoy slash and fanfic too much to resist the possibilities that a sport like football offers, but don't worry, I'm not only in it for the pretties. It's just ... sometimes I wonder if they WANT us to ship them. The constant flirting, the endless touching, the looks ... I still remember that one interview with Frings and Ballack together in which they sounded like a bickering old couple. They can't be oblivious to how people interpret that. ;)

I can't really decide if they're out for the lols, or if they're sometimes really as stupid as they seem. ;) What exactly did Wiese tell Bild about his oh-so-beautiful new haircut? Apart from the quote you posted yesterday or so. ^^

I quite like Neuer in Lena drag ;) Another applaudable collage created by the avantgarde artists working their daily shifts over at BILD...

But I'm sure you'ver seen this before...

[identity profile] linndechir.livejournal.com 2010-09-12 10:09 pm (UTC)(link)
No, I haven't seen this before ... The only way I can explain this is coffee. *points to icon*

[identity profile] deborahkla.livejournal.com 2010-09-22 07:24 am (UTC)(link)

"Nutella?"

That one literally made me laugh my ass off. And yes, it definitely makes up for the zombie brain-hungry face. :-)

I think you're just luring yourself into writing some fußball slash. God knows we could use some. All those sweaty, handsome men in the locker room together...just that thought is porn in and of itself.

BTW, if you see Nariel, tell her I just discovered her 9/12 e-mail to me yesterday (9/21) and I've sent her a reply. Lately she's sent e-mail under unrecognizable e-mail addresses, so it's too easy for her e-mails to go unnoticed. I don't want her to think I was neglecting her!

[identity profile] linndechir.livejournal.com 2010-09-22 02:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I had to post some of Manu's prettiness to make up for the zombie-picture, and he IS absurdly pretty on the Nutella-pic. Still, I don't think anything will ever make me laugh as hard as "Wiese's sexy girlfriend Grit".

Part of me wants to write football slash, but somehow ... I'm not in the mood for writing. Not to mention that I can't decide which one of my absurd pairings nobody else ships I'd write. ;)

I just talked to her on the phone. Apparently she just forgot to switch from her real-name-address to her nickname-mail-address before sending you the e-mail. And she also said she sent you another reply. She doesn't have internet access at her new place yet, so it's all a bit complicated.

[identity profile] deborahkla.livejournal.com 2010-09-23 01:52 am (UTC)(link)

I can't help but laugh uproariously at Manu's zombie-picture, though. It's like he's almost foaming at the mouth!

Fußball slash - I know what you mean, would anyone else understand? But that's the fun of creating new slash. All of a sudden people stop and stare and say, "hmm...they really would make a great couple..."

Thanks for talking to Nari! I did get the reply she mentioned. She had sent me this wonderful Reini/Schellchen snippet from the (on hold? aborted?) AU fic and I found it absolutely delightful. I'll be responding to her tomorrow, probably.

[identity profile] linndechir.livejournal.com 2010-09-23 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
It is hilarious. As I said, I was on the phone with Nariel when I first saw that picture, we were even having a serious conversation (for once), and I suddenly started laughing madly and couldn't stop for several minutes. I couldn't even explain to her what had happened because I couldn't breathe. ;)
What gets me about the girlfriends is that "Grit" is probably the unsexiest name ever, that Wiese's real girlfriend looks like a cheap slut from the one picture I've seen of her, and that somehow the text is still fitting because Frings is doing his girlfriend-snuggle-up-thing he usually does with Michael Ballack (and if these two aren't girlfriends boyfriends, I don't know who is). That probably made no sense to you at all, did it? To make my point:
Image

Okay, enough pictures, back to the conversation. Right. Thing is, RPS is a pain to write. Even more so than writing in general. I don't think it's wrong or anything, but fact is that it makes me somehow uncomfortable, or rather even more paranoid about my writing. And right now I lack proper ideas. I just see pictures like the ones above, and it seems so obvious that they must care about each other, but that doesn't mean that I know what to write.

You ought to ask her about whether the fic is on hold or whatever. ^^

And, again, your icon. Is epic. I'd ask if I could steal it, but I'd probably never use it because people are easily offended idiots. ,)

[identity profile] deborahkla.livejournal.com 2010-09-23 09:00 am (UTC)(link)
The top pic is just too cuddly for words, and they are far too cute together NOT to be a couple, as far as I'm concerned!

You're right that RPS is difficult. I want to write my own Reini/Schellchen slash, and I also want to write a Rommel fic, not necessarily erotic (although Machiavelli sent me an incredible photo of Erwin in a bathing suit--he had the most magnificent thighs I've ever seen)!! But I feel I must know more about these men before actually writing about them. So I've several trips to make to the library and the bookstore/amazon, which is fine by me because I want to read about them anyway. I did tell you that the biography of Heydrich you recommended is available in English, and in an updated edition?

I don't think Nariel knows the status of the AU fic any more than you do. She has all this ambivalence about writing it, which I don't understand, since she didn't even lose any relatives in WWII! AND her family moved to Germany, for goodness' sakes! I lost family at the two-day shooting at Babi Yar, but I wouldn't hesitate to write the fic if I knew enough about the subject.

As far as the icon is concerned, steal away, and use only with those friends who'll understand, like I do!

It's been 44 years since I saw Berlin--I need to get there again. When I was there with my family the wall was still up and they were reconstructing the Reichstag. There were still bombed-out buildings here and there--21 years after the war. I don't imagine there are any left now.

[identity profile] linndechir.livejournal.com 2010-09-28 04:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Glad we agree on that. These two just can't keep their hands of each other. Even when they're just walking next to each other, their shoulders or hands brush.

he had the most magnificent thighs I've ever seen
Picture please? Because I have trouble imagining thighs that are more magnificent than Miro Klose's, sorry. ;)
Glad that the Heydrich biography is available in English. Yeah, you always have to know more about people before writing RPS, which is probably the main reason I have such trouble with Cromwell/Cranmer. Somehow writing about people who are still alive is worse: there's less information available, and somehow they do indeed feel like real people (while people who have been dead for seventy years might just as well be fictional, in a way).

She's always fretting about the subject. I still remember her initial shock about my Heydrich love. But, hey, don't expect me to understand that.

Yeaaaaah, Berlin has changed quite a bit even in the past 10 years, let alone in the past 44 years. It's one of the things I love so much about Berlin - how it changes all the time, how everything's still moving and changing. Very much unlike Paris (probably the reason Paris is so boring).

[identity profile] deborahkla.livejournal.com 2010-09-29 09:20 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, when two men inadvertently touch each other that much, there's something going on there--even if it's completely unspoken and un-acted upon.

I e-mailed you Rommel's thunder-thighs pic. Rommel's come very close to the enormous thighs bicyclists have. And Rommel is just hot, anyway. In the pic you can see just a trace of his package, and the expression on his face is so "my eyes are up here, Fraulein," that it's almost too funny. I love it when Machi sends me sexy Nazi pics. Most recently she posted these links to tons of vintage photos of naked or nearly naked Nazis--I thought I'd died and gone to heaven.

I would never write about any historical character without doing my homework first. One of the major pains about being a writer is that it's very, very easy to have a work of non-fiction published, but it takes twice as much work to write because of all you have to before you can even set pen to paper. And I couldn't agree with you more about RP. I'm just not comfortable writing it. I tried to write a BDSM fic about Christoph Waltz and the photographer who took those stunning B&W posed pics of him in Landa uniform but just couldn't do it. It seems disrespectful or libelous or something.

Yes, Nari was a little freaked out about my Heydrich "action figure" which I still can't bear to take out of the box. He's so pristine looking! I still can't believe that you two are living at any distance from each other. I can't quite comprehend it, although I did tell Nari to take photos of dirndls and send them to you. ;-D

I believe Berlin is one of those major contemporary cities like New York that has been in an almost continuously radical state of flux for at least 150 years. Which, come to think of it, you could say about Germany and America as countries. But then America's just a baby country, really, which I hope is why we're such an incredibly stupid and bratty one.

Paris didn't have the shit bombed out of it, but I'll tell you something: I've been to Paris twice and Berlin only once, but I remember more about Berlin than about Paris.

[identity profile] linndechir.livejournal.com 2010-10-02 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
At least in our slashy tinhat reality, we like to think that. ;)

Rommel --> I'll send you an e-mail about that in a few.

I don't even find RPS disrespectful. Just somehow more difficult. I guess it's because, unlike with fictional characters, you don't have a fixed amount of canon information that you can (and usually must) use. With fictional characters, you can always say, "canon tells us this and that about character X, which justifies my interpretation of whatever; on the other hand canon tells us nothing about [his past, whatever], so I can make that up; but I can't have him do this or that because that obviously contradicts his portrayal in canon". With dead people, you have some sort of canon, i.e. the information that is available about this person. But with living, real people? The information is incomplete, often not very trustworthy (e.g. stuff people say in interviews), and somehow you feel really, really BAD for making up things. I know that my portrayal of Heydrich in my fics is probably inaccurate and nothing like his real behaviour, even if it seems to make sense to me based on what information I have about him. But it doesn't bother me. Maybe because he won't ever read it. Maybe because it is highly unlikely that I'll find more information that will prove that my characterisation is nonsense. With living people? I might just watch another interview tomorrow that will completely change my mind.
I hope you got what I wanted to say with this blabla.

I can't believe either that we're not living close to each other anymore. Seriously, we are going to break our phone flatrate. ;)
I feel the distinct urge to say "fuck you and your bloody dirndls!" :P Bavarians. Tsk.

I wouldn't know about NY, having never been there myself, but I think I see your point from what I've heard about the city.

I'm glad Paris didn't have the shit bombed out of it, because its prettiness is really the best thing about Paris. Somehow being in Hamburg was very frustrating in that regard. Like most big industrial German cities it was almost completely destroyed during the war, and it just hurts to see all those modern buildings, and just a few remains of what the city used to look like. It must have been so beautiful before.

[identity profile] deborahkla.livejournal.com 2010-10-03 10:01 am (UTC)(link)

My concern about being disrespectful in RPS or RPF about living people is realy based ont he fact that I'm just not comfortable making things up about people I don't know. Plus there's always the concern about libel. God knows when some semi-celebrity gets it into his pretty little head that he's being libeled through fanfiction and decides to sue the writers. Not that I'm really afraid of that happening to me, because the type of people I'd write about wouldn't be so stupid and petty over something that couldn't possibly damage their careers. On the ohter hand, while I haven't felt comfortable enough to write RPF/S about Christoph Waltz, I can't imagine having a problem doing so for Robert Downey Jr., who would probably have a good laugh and enjoy it.

But I'll be beginning homework on both Heydrich and Rommel soon. I find Rommel VERY hot, but I'm also ultra-conscious about treating him with respect. The problem is that from what Machi tells me there aren't many good biographies about Rommel the man, at least in English, and that's going to be a bit of a problem. It's got me halfway tempted to write my own biography, but I wouldn't feel comfortable doing it without paying a visit to Germany or touring scenes of his most famous battles. That's the problem with writing non-fiction; you need money to do the most comprehensive research. Which is a pain because I would have no problem getting it published. Well, we'll see. Chances are I can make a living writing nonfiction, which is much easier to get published than fiction.

I hope for the sake of your and Nari's phone bills that she gets decent access to the internet so you can e-mail! Re the dirndls--Nari believes you'd look positively epic in one, and I'm afraid I must agree, however much you hate them! Maybe you'd prefer the bdsm one with the leather bodice? I think Edel Vice on Nazi Fetish has one of those--okay, I'll stop now before you hit me. ;-)

Paris is beautiful, no question, and of course you're right about major industrial German cities being bombed to bits. But then both Dresden and Würzburg had the shit bombed out of them because the allied command let that one stupid air commander go on terror raids before they finally redirected him to focus ONLY on industrial targets. Typical stupid American bullshit.

[identity profile] linndechir.livejournal.com 2010-10-17 08:27 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't really have anything intelligent to say, but ... what's up with you guys and dirndls? These things are just ugly, they look bloody ridiculous. Nothing against skirts and old-fashioned dresses and all that stuff, but why dirndles? It's some sort of weird obsession going around. That's how you know Nari is not really German - otherwise she'd never even SUGGEST this. ;) Dirndls look bloody ridiculous, no matter who wears them.

Yeah, I know, but I prefer not to think about this because it makes me insanely angry. At least with Hamburg the bombing made sense, from a strategic point of view. It still makes me sad. Same goes for London, for that matter, now that I went there again. Dear people - if you feel the urge to fight wars, please do it somewhere in a desert or so, kthxbai.
