another meme! so much spam!

I'm in the right mood for memes right now. And I should really go to bed already. -.-

Give me a character (or ten) from any fandom you know I'm in, and I'll let you know:

* How I FEEEEEL about this character
* All the people I ship romantically with this character
* My non-romantic OTP for this character
* My unpopular opinion about this character
* One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

And Schellchen was SO GAY. I mean, he admits in his memoirs that one of the reasons he chose the SS was that he found the black uniform "quite dashing", and find me another autobiography or memoir written by a man that goes into such scrupulous detail in describing the physical features of other men but only refers to women as "pretty" if he refers to them physically at all. He refers to a Polish spy as "tall, well-built, and had a handsome face," then goes on to describe how the spy felt "a bond" with him. It's tidbits like this along with all the unapologetic cloak-and-daggery that makes his memoirs entertaining. That and the fact that a post-war German journalist said "his almost feminine sensibility made him as moody as a film star no longer sure of success."

Schellchen the aging queen, a veritable Norma Desmond! The mind reels! But other than that, you're absolutely right, he was an opportunistic whore.

Not to mention that he was pretty much in love with Heydrich. Pages and pages of fanboying and describing him in detail, followed by a short "of course I was soooo afraid of him and didn't like him AT ALL."

But, yes, more than anything he was an opportunistic whore. But let's face it, most of the important NS officers, party functionaries etc. were fairly pathetic guys. Even Heydrich, much as I admire him for other things, was fairly pathetic in other regards.

I couldn't agree with you more. For supposedly pure Aryans, they were all incredibly flawed human beings. What I found most interesting in Schellenberg's memoirs was his description of Himmler as a pathetic, toadying little dweeb. As much as I find it hard to believe that anyone would follow someone as unappealing as Hitler, I find it even harder to believe that Himmler, the chinless chicken farmer, led the SS and was actually Heydrich's superior. Yegads.

Yep. It's harder to be more pathetic than Hitler, but Himmler manages. I can understand why Heydrich was so incredibly frustrated with that nutcase.
